Rajdeep K. Rohal CLP 30 Butte College Discussion 7 Resume I believe effective resumes contain elements such as honest and easily verifiable data about yourself, Effective use of vocabulary, writing, resume length and document format is my number two most effective element of a resume. Number three most effective element of a resume in my opinion would be relevant experience in the field and degree(s) from an accredited university. Past experience should be ended with a good note and reference for future employment. If you got fired but still obtained good experience then I would not mention that as good prior experience that can be verified. Other important elements of an effective resume in my opinion include references, professionalism submitting this document to desired businesses hiring manager or manager, and suitable answers for availability to work and salary expected. Personally I like having letters of recommendation or “references” that are typed and signed by the person. Make sure this business document (resume) is typed in correct format, font size, font, and completed with professionalism in mind. It’s always helpful to do some research on creating a good resume prior to making your resume. If you can get your resume to align with your desired employer and their needs then this is preferred. Parts people sometimes include in a resume but that I find Inappropriate are photos of oneself, expressive fonts, Bullet lists, family and personal information like height, weight, relationship status, skills and accomplishments that have no relevance to position they are applying for, family members as references, spelling errors, inks other than black, and formatting errors. Dishonesty filling out an application or resume putting false information about oneself with the intention to land an unearned position of employment is not just inappropriate but straight trashy and dishonest people are unworthy of positions of trust and therefore should not be considered. Criminal histories and experiences with theft or commercial burglary are huge warning signs to stay away from. Social profiles should also not be mentioned or used if not maintained with professionalism in mind which most people don’t but should.
