Isaac Newton

Isaac Newton was born in 1643 in England. When he was

young, he made fantastic things like a wind machine, water
clock, and sundial. School was not easy for him, but at 18, he
went to Cambridge University to learn about physics, math, and
stars. In 1665, a terrible sickness called the Great Plague made the university close,
so he went back home.

At home, Newton kept learning and trying new things. One day, he
saw an apple fall from a tree and wondered why it went down and not up.
This made him think about gravity, the force that pulls things to Earth
and moves planets around the Sun.

Newton loved light too and found out that white light has all the colours of
the rainbow. He even made a special telescope that was really strong.

He also figured out the "Three Laws of Motion," which

tell us how things move. Even today, these laws help us send
rockets into space.

Newton's discoveries made him famous and rich, but he had a bad temper and
often fought with other scientists.

He passed away at 85 in 1727 and was buried in Westminster Abbey, London,

with kings and queens. People still remember him as one of the smartest scientists
and mathematicians ever.

1. What are some inventions Isaac Newton created as a child?

2. What inspired Newton to think about gravity, and what does gravity do?
3. Name one important discovery made by Isaac Newton and why is it
important?

Isaac Newton was born in 1643 in England. He created

brilliant inventions as a child and later studied physics,
math, and stars at Cambridge University. When the Great
Plague struck in 1665, he returned home and continued
experimenting. While observing an apple falling from a tree,
he developed the theory of gravity, explaining why things
are pulled to Earth and planets move around the Sun.

Newton also discovered that white light contains all

the rainbow colours and invented a powerful telescope. He
formulated the "Three Laws of Motion" explaining how
objects move, and it is still used for space rockets. His
discoveries brought fame and wealth but his temper led
to arguments with other scientists.

He died at 85 in 1727 and was buried in

Westminster Abbey, remembered as one of
history's greatest scientists and mathematicians.
