CCTV– Spot Audit

Objective: The objective of this audit was to evaluate and test the adequacy and effectiveness of internal control of CCTV system.

Following are the observations, under the risk assessment, against which your comments are required ,

Observation Management Comments

1. While verifying the cameras, it was observed that out of 101 cameras, 5 were not working.

Location of camera’s which were not working

i. Executive Gate (Under Construction)


ii. Motor cycle parking (Under Construction)
iii. Warping (Have repaired after audit) OK
iv. Weaving (Shed-2) OK
v. Executive Colony (Have repaired after audit) OK

2. While viewing the CCTV screens from control room, we noted that the few cameras were
blurred.

i. New Knitting Department Adjusted


ii. Warping Entrance OK
iii. Old Colony OK

3. While checking locations, we found that several important areas where cameras are not
deployed.
i. Weaving Yarn Sub Store (Inside) All Electric power remain off after
ii. Rewinding Department (Inside) working hours
iii. Wastage Go-down (Inside) Will be installed
iv. Main Store (Inside) Not Required
v. Chemical Sub Store (Inside) Not Required
vi. Inventory Yarn Go-down (Inside) No electric power is permitted
vii. Sizing (Commercial) Yarn Go-down (Inside) Not Required

All these 7 areas are important to their extent individually so CCTV must be installed to cover all
these areas to minimize the risk factor.

4. While checking the camera’s location, we found some areas where just few cameras are Restriction of wave length from IT
mounted and that are not enough to cover whole area. does not permit to install more IP
Camera to provide access to
i. Denim weaving shed (Only 1 Camera, Should be At least 2) Surveillance.
ii. Weaving Shed # 01 (Only 1 Camera, Should be At least 4)
iii. Weaving Shed # 02 (Only 1 Camera, Should be At least 4)
iv. New Knitting Department (Only 2 Cameras, 2 cameras enough but should be on
different direction) Ref point # 08
v. Old Knitting Department (Only 1 Camera Should be At least 2)
vi. Fabric Go-down (Only 3 Cameras)

5. While assessment of the CCTV operation, we found that CCTV control room has no access of My above remarks are still hold
all CCTV cameras and enough LCDs for views and backup play. Control room can only views good.

6. In accordance with the significant risk, we found only 05 Minutes backup of UPS that use for UPS to the surveillance system

Recommendation: To mitigate the risk of any potential data loss, the DVRS system should supported any data loss as we supported by
by an uninterrupted power supply (UPS).

7. There is no layout for CCTV installation. There should be a proper updated layout plan for Layout of CCTV Cameras are under
CCTV installation to analyze the critical areas with the passage of time, which will be helpful progress
for any change in plan or in case of expansion.

Purpose: CCTV layout is used to depict a system of video monitoring and also provides video
cameras placement strategy.

8. While checking the camera’s location, we found that 2 cameras are located on same location Adjusted Accordingly
and their direction is one sided.
