ACTIVITIES 1 SET INDUCTION : 5 MINUTES


Teacher writes the word jobs on the board. Teacher puts the students into pairs and asks
them to make a list of all the jobs they know. Teacher sets a time limit of 2 minutes. Listen to
their ideas as a class and make a list of jobs on the board.

2 LESSON DELIVERY : 20 minutes


1. Teacher explains the word chore (an ordinary job that must be done regularly, eg.
Washing up)

2. Students work in pairs and discuss their answers to the questions. Teacher listens to their
ideas as a class.

3.Students work individually and use words from exercise 1 to complete the adverts on the
Community notice board. They answer the question. Students compare answers in pairs.
4.Teacher nominates two students to read aloud the example question and answer. Teacher
puts students into pairs. They ask and answer questions about the chores they do.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES : By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to:
• Write three information required to write an email about inviting relatives to a party with

Teacher writes the word jobs on the board. Teacher puts the pupils into pairs and asks them
to make a list of all the jobs they know. Teacher sets a time limit of 2 minutes. Listen to their
ideas as a class and make a list of jobs on the board.

2 LESSON DELIVERY : 20 minutes


1. Teacher explains the word chore (an ordinary job that must be done regularly, eg.
Washing up)

2. pupils work in pairs and discuss their answers to the questions. Teacher listens to their
ideas as a class.

3.pupils work individually and use words from exercise 1 to complete the adverts on the
Community notice board. They answer the question. pupils compare answers in pairs.
4.Teacher nominates two pupils to read aloud the example question and answer. Teacher puts

1. Find a text which has a clear opinion on a particular topic either agreeing or disagreeing
2. Tell the pupils the topic area. Ask them to work in small groups and think about the pros and
cons or why they might agree or disagree with a particular attitude. They should make a list.

3. Compare their ideas.


4. Now ask pupils to read the text and see if the writer has given any of the ideas in the lists
created.

5. Check answers with the group.


6. Tell pupils to work in their groups and create a short summary of the writer’s opinion.
