 Mr.

Munusamy, 58 years old, illiterate, was a coolie by occupation, earning about 5000
rupees per month, residing at Murugan Koil Street, Villianur. His family consisted of 4
members.
 He had history of five hypo pigmented patches with sensory loss over back of
the trunk for 2 years.
 It was noticed accidentally by his wife and so he visited the nearby PHC. He
was initiated on Multi-drug therapy for leprosy and he is regularly taking
medications.

 He is a tobacco user who smokes 2 packs of beedis per day.

 He consumes a mixed diet. 24hr recall diet history revealed 1800 Kcal and 35 gm of
protein intake.
 The family resides in a kutcha house and uses firewood for cooking.
 Community supply water is used for daily work. Washing of clothes and utensils is done
in front of the house.
 Open drainage is present in front of the house and they have goats which are kept at the
back of the house.
 Examination findings:
 Height: 165 cm
 Weight: 55 kg
 No ulceration
 Ulnar nerve thickening present.
 No deformities
