Engine 1 & 2 START Switches - Verify CONT


FLT ALT - Verify SET
LAND ALT - Verify SET

L & R CTR Fuel Pumps - ON (OFF if Center Tank fuel level below 5,000 lbs.)

EFIS Mode Selectors - MAP, 40 miles range


EFIS V O R / ADF Switches - V O R 1, V O R 2
EFIS MAP Data Switches - OFF as desired to declutter MAP display

Pilot's F/D Switch - ON


A/T ARM Switch - ON
IAS/MACH - 230 knots
Max Bank Angle - 25 degrees
HEADING - Runway Heading
ALTITUDE - Initial Departure Altitude (or Cruise Altitude)
VERT SPEED - 0 (blank)
Autopilot DISENGAGE Bar - Verify UP
Co-Pilot's F/D Switch - ON

N1 SET - BOTH, 90% N1 (CLIMB thrust)


Auto Brakes - RTO (Reject Takeoff)

FLAPS - TAKEOFF (5, 15 or 25) (See Takeoff Trim & Flaps Guideline)
SPEEDBRAKES - DOWN (Verify [SPEEDBRAKES EXTENDED] light extinguished)
STAB TRIM - TAKEOFF (Verify in GREEN BAND) (See Takeoff Trim & Flaps Guideline)
RUDDER Trim - 0

Cleared for Takeoff:


Taxi to Active Runway POSITION AND HOLD point
Parking Brake - ON
LANDING LIGHTS - ON
RUNWAY TURNOFF & TAXI Lights - OFF
POSITION Lights - STROBE & STEADY
ANTI COLLISION Lights - OFF
WING & WHEEL WELL Lights - OFF
Altimeter - Verify FIELD ELEVATION

Plane between steps during the takeoff if needed, to review each step and learn the
takeoff procedure.

TAKEOFF CHECKLIST

Throttles - 40% N1 (Verify N1 & EGT stable)


Parking Brake - OFF
Advance throttles to TAKEOFF thrust (90 to 100% N1), or press TOGA Switch

Below 80 knots:
Yoke slightly forward, steer with nosewheel
One hand on throttles for possible Takeoff Abort
80 knots:
Release yoke forward pressure, steer with rudder

V1 (135-145 knots):
Both hands on yoke (Takeoff can no longer be aborted)

Vr (140-150 knots):
ROTATE - 5-10 degrees (do not exceed 10 degrees to avoid tail strike)

Liftoff:
Vertical Speed - Verify POSITIVE RATE
LANDING GEAR - UP

Above 50 ft. AGL:


Pitch - 10-15 degrees (maintain V2 +15, 160-170 knots)

Above 400 ft. AGL:


Select roll mode - HDG SEL or LNAV

Pitch - 5-10 degrees (slowly accelerate)


FLAPS - 1 (Retract on Schedule: 160, 170, 180, 190, 200, 210)
SPEED - ON (approaching 230 knots)

V/S - ON; VERT SPEED - 1500-1800


Engage Autopilot - CMD A (Yoke must be neutral to engage CMD mode)

Note: See REJECT TAKEOFF CHECKLIST as required

AFTER TAKEOFF CHECKLIST

Departure Altitude:
HEADING - Departure Heading
IAS/MACH - 250 knots
FLAPS - UP

ALTITUDE - Cruise Altitude


Select climb mode - LVL CHG, VNAV, or V/S
ALT HOLD - OFF (to engage VNAV climb)

Above 10,000 ft. MSL:


IAS/MACH - 280 knots (Automatically set by FMC/VNAV)
LANDING LIGHTS - OFF
L & R CTR Fuel Pumps - ON (OFF if Center Tank fuel level below 2,000 lbs.)

Above 18,000 ft. MSL:


BARO - STD (29.92)

Cruise Altitude:
IAS/MACH - 300 knots, or Mach 0.78 (Automatically set by FMC/VNAV)
Engine 1 & 2 START Switches - AUTO (CONT in rain, FLT in severe turbulence)
L & R CTR Fuel Pumps - ON (OFF when [LOW PRESSURE] warning lights illuminate)
L & R CTR Fuel Pumps - Check periodically to verify [LOW PRESSURE] warning lights
extinguished

FASTEN BELTS Switch - AUTO
