‫بسم هللا الرحمن الرحيم‬

Allamah Munawi and Allamah Azizi explain that the hadith means that the fasting people are
safeguarded from entering Jahannam. Allamah Sanani adds that there are those whose sins
would have cause them to be chained but Allah’s mercy would free them in Ramadhan.

In other words, Allah makes the judgement in Ramadhan of freeing many people from Jahannam,
who would have been destined to Jahannam due to their sins, says Shaikh Mustafa Amarah.
