CHAPTER V

SUMMARY, CONCLUSION, AND RECOMMENDATION

This chapter presents the summary based from the results. It also
displays the conclusions and recommendations derived from the data
gathered during the study.

Summary

The main objective of this research was to determine the level of


response of Grade 11 students’ writing skills in terms of speaking
performance.

Results revealed the following: the level of response to writing skills of


Grade 11 students in terms of English language got a mean of 0.734 with a
descriptive equivalent of strong uphill; the level of response to their speaking
performance of Grade 11 students in terms of English language got a mean of
0.729 with a descriptive equivalent of strong uphill. The overall mean of the
two variables is 0.732 with a descriptive equivalent of strong uphill, which
means that the level of response of students to the writing skills is related to
their speaking performance.

Conclusion

The main purpose of the study is to evaluate the level of response of students’
writing skills and speaking performance towards English language. The level
of response of students’ writing skills to their speaking performance towards
English language is strongly related to each other. Therefore, it can be
considered by the means of using the writing skills, a students’ speaking
performance will be affected either positively or negatively in learning English
language.

The following conclusions can be drawn based on the findings of the


study:
1. The level of response on writing skills in English language of the Grade
11 students in Mindtechs Institute of Technology, Incorporated is
strong.
2. There is a relationship between the writing skills and the level of
speaking performance in English language.
3. There is a significant relationship in learning English language with the
use of the writing skills to improve the students’ speaking performance.

Recommendation

The following recommendations are offered based on the drawn


conclusions:

1. The response of the students to the writing skills may be raised to very
high. It is therefore recommended that students shall exposed
themselves to many activities that are related in writing skills in order to
develop their writing ability and would enhance also their speaking
skills most especially in English language and it is eventually be useful
regarding the subject matter.
2. The study also portrays a significant relationship between the two
variables so encouragement to develop the writing skills for the
students’ speaking performance in learning English language is
therefore recommended.
3. School. The Mindtechs Institute of Technology, Inc. may
organize writing and speech activities such as poem writing, speech
writing, story writing, speech choir, debate, storytelling, impromptu
speaking and some other writing and speech related activities which
will help them to practice their English language writing ability and this
could also help them to promote their speaking performance to utilize
their English language and enhance their speaking ability.
4. Teachers. They may hold clubs and academic organization that
will engage students to different activities which will be conducted by
the department. They may act as advisers and facilitator during the
conduct of activities.
5. Students. They are encouraged to join and participate to
different clubs and academic organizations and engaged themselves in
different activities that will help develop their writing and speaking
ability and become fluent speakers.
6. Future Researchers. They are encouraged to conduct the same
research to other respondents to strengthen the claims and the findings
of this study using other research approach and methods.
