Electric vehicle (EV) battery pack disconnection NOT required before carrying out the following procedure(s):
Regular service and maintenance operations.
Main vehicle battery disconnection.

Safety precautions

WARNING: Electric vehicle (EV) battery pack contains HIGH VOLTAGE g2.

When working on high voltage circuits and components ensure the following safety related guidelines are adhered to:

Ensure all personnel working on high voltage electric drive systems are suitably trained to carry out the necessary
operations.

Place high voltage warning signs to ensure the safety of personnel in the work area.
Ensure all high voltage circuits and components are not left accessible to untrained personnel.

Always wear insulated gloves conforming to relevant local safety standards.

Isolate high voltage electric vehicle (EV) battery pack.


Ensure the recommended waiting time after high voltage electric vehicle (EV) battery pack isolation has elapsed, before
working on the electric drive system.

Check any residual circuit voltage is below the recommended safety level.
Ensure all test equipment and tools are suitable for use with high voltage.

Note: Electric drive system high voltage wiring harness covered with orange insulation.

Special tools
Electric vehicle (EV) battery pack isolator socket safety cover.

Electric vehicle (EV) battery pack disconnection/isolation

Ensure ignition switched OFF and vehicle keys removed from vehicle interior.
Ensure all electrical equipment switched OFF.
Disconnect main vehicle battery. Refer to relevant procedure for main vehicle battery.
Lift cut-out in carpet to access EV battery pack isolator access cover g3.1.
Remove EV battery pack isolator access cover g3.2.
Unlock EV battery pack isolator g3.3.
Remove EV battery pack isolator g3.4.
Fit EV battery pack isolator socket safety cover g3.5. Secure EV battery pack isolator socket safety cover with padlock to
prevent accidental connection.
Wait 10 minutes.
Raise and support vehicle.
Remove underbody shields to access EV battery pack harness multi-plug.
Disconnect EV battery pack harness multi-plug.
Check voltage at EV battery pack harness multi-plug terminals to ensure residual circuit voltage is 5 V or less before
continuing g3.6.

Electric vehicle (EV) battery pack connection

Ensure ignition switched OFF and vehicle keys removed from vehicle interior.
Connect EV battery pack harness multi-plug g3.6.
Fit underbody shields.
Remove padlock from EV battery pack isolator socket safety cover. Remove EV battery pack isolator socket safety cover
g3.5.
Fit EV battery pack isolator g3.4.
Lock EV battery pack isolator in place g3.3.
Fit EV battery pack isolator access cover g3.2.
Fit carpet g3.1.
Connect main vehicle battery. Refer to relevant procedure for main vehicle battery.
