Guidelines on Implementation of the 2023 Brigada Eskwela in SDO-Sarangani
(DM 101, s. 2023)

1. All School Heads are directed to rally support from education partners, stakeholders, and volunteers in preparing
our schools for the opening of School Year 2023-2024.
2. School Heads must report all generated resources and volunteer man-hours mobilized using the DepEd
Partnerships Database System (DPDS).
3. All District Heads are advised to support the Brigada Eskwela initiatives of the schools under their respective
jurisdictions.
4. Teaching personnel involved in the implementation of Brigada Eskwela shall be entitled to earn vacation service
credits arising from their active involvement as members of their respective School Brigada Eskwela Technical
Working Groups. Teachers shall earn one-day service credit for accumulated eight hours of service but not to
exceed five days of service credits, consistent with DepEd Order No. 53, s. 2003, otherwise known as “Updated
Guidelines on the Grant of Vacation Service Credits to Teachers,” and DepEd Order No. 84, s. 2003, or
“Addendum to DO 53 No. s. 2003.”
5. The School Governance and Operations Division (SGOD), through the Social Mobilization and Networking (SMN)
Unit shall monitor the Brigada Eskwela implementation on-site and online.
Guidelines on Implementation of the 2023 Brigada Eskwela in SDO-Sarangani
(DM 101, s. 2023)

1. SDO-Sarangani is the host of the 2023 Brigada Eskwela Regional to be conducted on August 11, 2023, at
Leonard Young Senior National High School (LYSNHS), in Big Margus, Glan, Sarangani Province.
2. Resources generated from the kickoff activity will be used to support the renovation of three makeshift
buildings comprising nine classrooms of Batotuling Integrated School and the perimeter fencing project of
LYSNHS.
3. Participants in the kickoff activity are the School Heads and School Brigada Eskwela Coordinators of Glan
4 District, all heads of the 23 school districts of SDO-Sarangani, and selected Division Office-based
personnel, the list of which will be provided in a separate memorandum.
4. Attendees are encouraged to share any construction materials, such as paints, paintbrushes and rollers,
paint thinners, cement, plywood, G.I. sheets, common nails of various sizes, shovels, hole diggers,
hammers, saws, and other carpentry tools, or anything that can be useful to provide a safe and conducive
school learning environment for the learners.
5. The itinerary of the travel to the site and the flow of the kickoff activity is attached for the information and
guidance of all concerned.

EXPECTED OUTCOME & OUTPUT
At the end of BE Week, the 323-strong SDO Sarangani schools are all prepared and ready
for the opening of SY 2023-2024, with repaired, maintained, and cleaned classrooms,
school premises, and surroundings, making the schools safe and conducive for learning.

Specifically for the kick-off, SDO Sarangani will have mobilized education stakeholders
and volunteers to provide construction materials and person-hours for the schools.

SDO Sarangani expects to generate an estimated PhP 0.500 million in stakeholder


resources and mobilize 200 volunteers to help prepare schools during the kick-off.

SDO-Sarangani will do all these following its mantra “We build partnerships, we do not
solicit. But we accept donations.”
