Why is watching movies a pleasant moment? Most people like to

watch a movie, because it embodies feelings, which in one way
or another are transmitted to the viewer. We conducted a
survey related to movies to find out how much time they spend
watching movies and what genres are frequented among the
youth population.
With the survey it was found that:

We found that a quarter of young people love the romance genre

when it comes to watching a movie, followed by horror with 23.5%,
suspense voted by 19.1%, 17.6% prefer action and only 14.7% are
fans of fiction.
The most people answered that they used to watch movies of their
favorite genre two times a week, and only 13.2% responded that
they watch movies of their favorite genre once a month, which is
the lowest frequency. 41.2% of people watch movies on their mobile
device, 26.5% at the cinema, 13.2% on TV channels and 11.8% on
websites. It was also found that most young people watch movies
alone, only five point nine percent do so with their work team, 25%
with their family, 20.6% with their partner and 14.7% with friends.
Finally, it was found that 48.5% of the youth public's favorite time to
watch movies is between 8:00p.m. and 12a.m., five point nine
percent chose from 8:00a.m. to 12:00p.m., eight point eight percent
from 12:00p.m. to 4:00p.m., 33.8% prefer to enjoy a movie from
4p.m. to 8p.m., and a small number prefer to watch movies from
12:00a.m. to 4:00a.m.

This survey was handled under two purposes, being them:

1) To know how much time young people dedicate to movie
consumption.
2) To find out the genres of movies most often consumed.
Based on the first purpose, the results revealed that most young people
watch movies between once and twice a week. If this figure remains
constant, then they would watch between 52 to 104 movies per year,
approximately.
And when it came to deciding the time to watch a movie, around 50% of
young people chose the 8 p.m. to 12 a.m. range, revealing that young
people are busy most of the day, with the evening free to watch a film.
The most enjoyed genre is romance, representing a quarter of the
surveyed population. Not far behind are horror, suspense and action.
The majority of the youth audience consumes movies alone, with their
family and with a couple, explaining why romance, horror and suspense
are the most watched genres, as it is the usual choice among couples
and young people who enjoy watching a movie alone.
