Q.1 Ringing. Refer to the accompanying transmission
line. Line parameters: L= 4.5 nH/cm, C= 0.8 pF/cm, R=0,
G=0, and l=30 cm. Sketch VL(t) vs t at the interval
and indicate the steady state voltage Vss.
Use Z0= [L/C]0.5.
Q.2 Reflective loads. Refer to the accompanying uncharged
transmission line. At t= 0 s the switch is closed.
Sketch VL(t) vs. t at the interval for each of the
following load resistances a.) RL=25 Ω b.) RL= 50Ω and
c.) RL=100Ω.
Q.3 Reflective loads. Refer to the accompanying transmission
line. Assuming that the switch has been closed
for a long time before it opens at t=0s. Sketch VL(t) vs. t at the
interval for each of the following load
resistances a.) RL=25 Ω b.) RL= 50Ω and c.) RL=100Ω.
Q4. Pulse excitation. The circuit shown is excited by an ideal
voltage pulse of amplitude 1V commencing at t=0s. For l=
10cm and speed of propagaion=20 cm/ns sketh the voltage
at the source end, Vs, for each of the following pulse
durations: a.) 10 ns and b.) 1 ns.
