This organization is created at Escuela de Sophia of Caloocan, Inc. from Grade 12

Humanities and Social Sciences Strand (HUMSS), precisely from Pintados Kasadyahan block A,
proposing the clean-up drive in Brgy. 178, Kiko Camarin. Extending the organization’s service
on account of the observed community issue around the barangay, being the concern of the
people,  Intending to assist the community in creating a clean and healthy society. The
organization,  E-POLISH (E for Eco, POLISH for Public Organization with Limitless Service
and Honor) namely: Alexa Afable, Roneisha Ambion, Charliemae Aynaga, Crishilda Oliva,
Kathlean Pallorina, Louise Reyes, and Randell Tumanon are looking forward to this project. 

The target population for the clean-up drive are the residents of Brgy. 178 Kiko Camarin,
who is now experiencing issues managing waste within their community. Specifically, the target
people that the organization intends to help are the following. Vendors, students, and generally,
the people of the community. However, the above-mentioned target population is not limited to
the chosen area. Surely, this will be beneficial for all of the people that may come and visit in
Kiko Camarin.

In order to establish a community where the people of the community are free from
several environmental problems and inconveniences, E-Polish was created with the following
key areas of concern such as; flood, traffic, vendors, waste management, and pollution. E-
POLISH aims to lessen the hindrances that the students, workers, visitors, etc. encounter in their
daily lives. As the environment is out of their control, the organization will be the one to help
these people overcome environmental issues that are prevalent and often the source of
complaints but rarely addressed and resolved. The community action is implemented as E-Polish
will specifically carry out tasks such as monitoring, pick-up of trash, street sweeping, and traffic
enforcement every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday that will start in the month of June to
October. E-Polish is not just about providing a stress-free environment but it also aims to spread
awareness about the importance of taking good care of one's own surroundings and being a good
role model to everyone.

INTRODUCTION

     The E-Polish Organization developed a strategy to concentrate on the Brgy. 178 Kiko,
Camarin major issue. In response to thousands of people living there, a wet and dry market
nearby, and the area close to the main road will result in the execution of this community action
plan to help and let the people be aware of the issues that are happening. This community's waste
management issues result in a variety of problems, including flooding, traffic, health risks, and
noise pollution. Pursuant to the organization, implementing this action plan will contribute to
reducing and controlling the adverse impacts the waste has on the environment and people.
Additionally, Four activities were planned to execute which stirs the desire of the organization to
fill the lapses, maintain cleanliness, prevent flooding, make Kiko community a safe place for
people, and foster harmony.
 The clean-up drive in the area of Kiko in Barangay 178 was an idea manifested due to its
complaints from the people living there and who pass by in the area of the market. The
organization decided to have a clean-up drive to lessen the waste in the area which affects in
many ways in the barangay. First, is that because of a lot of waste in the area due to the market it
causes heavy traffic. A lot of trash/waste from the vendors and also the buyer are going to the
main road which causes heavy traffic. Furthermore, E-POLISH wanted to help the community to
have a clean and healthy society by helping them to lessen their waste in the area, coming up to
the idea of wanting to conduct a clean-up drive. Another thing why the organization wants to
conduct the clean-up drive in Kiko is to prevent floods due to the waste scattered all over the
area. Floods may affect the health of the people in the community, not wanting to risk their
health. Moreover, E-POLISH also wanted to conduct the activities so that the traffic in the area
will lessen because of the cleanliness of the place and having proper segregation of the trash so
that other commuters and vehicles won't be interrupted in their trip. Clean up drive is not just to
lessen the waste but also to provide a clean and healthy community for the people who live there.

COMMUNITY PROFILE

Community projects are inevitably defective due to the citizen’s reciprocation to new and
old approaches to different issues in the community. There are thousands of ideal ways to
provide solutions, but the success of those are reliant on the obedience and dedication of the
people. Clean Up drives are community projects that were created due to man-made hazards,
especially as observed at Barangay 178. Traffic Congestion, unorganized market vendors, waste
mismanagement, floods, and noise pollution are all manageable man-made issues that can be
addressed through the help from the citizens themselves with the guidance of E- POLISH, and
with the assistance of Sangguniang Kabataan, Barangay 178, Eco Warriors Organization, and
Kabataan Partylist who are: 

Sangguniang Kabataan
Are the youth leaders who lend and extend their service, especially to the things that
concern youth’s progression. Sangguniang Kabataan creates the foundation of unity
among the future of the country. They carry out the objectives of the youth in the
barangay in accordance with the applicable provisions of the code that Initiates and
supports programs for aspiring leaders. 
 
Barangay 178
The local government unit of Kiko Camarin who aside from the Sangguniang Kabataan,
are the leading people maintaining peace and order in the community. They can help
provide the resources which E-POLISH lacks and their authority can support the need for
orderliness. 

Eco Warriors
An environmentalist organization at Escuela de Sophia of Caloocan, Inc. that are
prominent in being one of the most effective organizations as they actively participate
inside and outside campus environmental projects. 
   

Kabataan Partylist
Kabataan Partylist is the representation of youth leaders aiming for social change in the
country, believing that it all starts from a single voice that once unified, will be able to
devote its intellect, energy, and courage to building a new society. Kabataan Partylist can
help the organization with manpower, resources, partnerships with further organizations,
and promote community action for the common good. 

With the ability to perform according to the mission and vision of the organization, E-POLISH
proposes projects that could resolve issues along with the clean-up drive such as; allocation of
the vendors, traffic management, promotion of right waste management through colored trash
bins in every area, and street sweeping. Kiko Camarin having Its population as determined by the
2020 Census—110,224, represented 6.63% of the total population of Caloocan who are daily
adding to the man-made hazards. With the possible cooperation of the community, it will resolve
the issues concerning: Traffic Congestion, unorganized market vendors, waste mismanagement,
floods, and noise pollution    

Environmental sustainability is extremely beneficial in preventing climate change and

resulting global warming not only in the community but for global environmental stability. To
ensure the comfortable livelihoods of the thousands of people in these areas, an organized
approach of clean-up drive community initiatives must be implemented urgently. This will entail
reevaluating environmental priorities and devising new strategies. Thus, specified problems and
needs in prioritizing the level of urgency in the community are listed below to provide a
profound focus to which individuals, residents, and local government officials must have a clear
emphasis on which they must pay greater attention.   

E-Polish’s key areas of problems and needs:

TRAFFIC CONGESTIONS
The most crucial problem in Brgy 178, Kiko, needs to be addressed. Due to many
community issues including lots of improper garbage disposal, severity, and heavy traffic
congestion arises and increase in the community. This specific problem is the most vital
community problem that needs to be solved immediately as it has a significant impact on
a large number of employees, students, and other residents in the community and delays
lots of transactions that block the development of the community. Taking urgent
community action on this problem will lead to a faster mode of transportation that
benefits the community in the development of a smoother flow of transactions or traffic
on highways and roads within the community.  

WASTE MISMANAGEMENT
Improper waste disposal or management is the second major problem of Brgy 178, Kiko
that needs to take full action and attention by barangay officials as well as local residents
in the community. This second major issue in the community requires a well-organized
prioritization in a specific area that has waste problems in order to provide awareness to
the people in the community how are the appropriate and proper ways of disposing of
 waste that will no longer cause massive community pollutions and complications that can
make up another issue that may arise in the community. Resolving this issue can boost
the community’s growth and development which will be beneficial to the community. 

FLOODS
One of the top concerns of the residents, most importantly when there is rain. Blockage
of drainage to various areas in Brgy 178, Kiko, is one of the community problems that are
currently facing in the present times. Barangays together with other organizations and SK
officials should include floods in the prioritization of community issues as it also
exacerbates lots of other interconnected community problems such as traffic due to its
obstruction to some main roads and highways. This problem should be prioritized in
order to provide a smoother flow of transportation regardless of weather conditions and
improve the cleanliness of the community areas. Implementing a well-formulated
solution and action to this community issue results in significant improvements to the
environment, traffic, and transportation within the community. 

NOISE POLLUTION
Another pollution that a community has the least concern of some residents. This is the
production of loud, unpleasant sound that disturbs the environment and its constituent
parts that need to be solved by the community. Among the different sources of this kind
of pollution, vehicles, aircraft, and other transport systems produce the most noise, which
calls for consideration while coming up with a solution and taking appropriate action.
This has a significant effect on both people and animals, having an adverse effect on their
behavioral and physical health. Given these consequences of noise pollution on human
health, it is necessary to enforce noise pollution solutions that assist the community to
reduce, resolve, and take comprehensive operations to support the community's
development and prevent adverse effects on inhabitants.
