Problem- Solution Essay: Introduction and body paragraphs outline

With the advance of the times, human beings have acquired an increased curiosity
about what lies beyond the planet we live on, about what we cannot touch, hence the origin of
astronomy. Although it might be believed that this field only focuses on the study of the
universe, “astronomy has been a cornerstone of technological progress throughout history and
has much to contribute to the future” (Dave Finley, 2013). However, in the Colombian
context, there is still a long way to go for astronomy to be recognized as relevant for
development, and therefore, to be seen as a subject that allows to merge different disciplinary
perspectives. In fact, this study is not only limited to science but has the potential of involving
fields such as language, politics, philosophy, among others. In addition, Astronomy is mostly
taught in a theoretical way and its practical functions are commonly relegated. Fortunately,
certain solutions can be implemented in order to integrate astronomy with a practical
perspective into the interests of the Colombian curriculum by means of the use of
multidisciplinarity.

practical- didactic innovation related to astronomy in the different academic fields.
