PERFORMANCE CHECK (30%)

Performance Check 3 (PC 3):

“My Own Commandment”

The Ten Commandments are important because they serve as a guide for Christians
when it comes to ensuring that God’s will and God’s way are respected. They show what God
wishes from His people, as well as what He forbids. For so long as people follow the rules listed
in the Ten commandments, they will not commit any mortal sin against God. To keep the decree
of God, students are asked to make a commandment that transcends their belief and
appreciation of the Decalogue.

Section 1: The Commandment and the target location

“In all one must do, they shall strive for high quality life and work”

Target Group and Location: Ambitious people in La Trinidad, Benguet

Section 2: Definition of terms

Ambitious:
a person having or showing a strong desire and determination to succeed.

Section 3: Description of the Commandment

The commandment states that one must continually look to improve on old models and
practices, working to dedicate oneself to being the best that they can be, everyday, in
whatever activity or cause to which they find himself attached.

Section 4 : Context of the commandment

Most Filipinos settle on the idea of “Bahala na” or “Okay na yan” attitude which results in
some people using the trait to fuel or justify their laziness and it becomes a negative attitude if
it makes one self-negating, has a fatalistic attitude, and surrenders to fate.

Since most people here lack the discipline or motivation to set goals and strive for high
quality, one should start to disseminate information on how to set goals for our lives and seek
meaningful improvements in our lives. Having a high quality work and life leads to better
outcomes in happiness, health, relationships and overall life satisfaction.
