For enhancing the rope mechanical properties
Siri® High Performance ropes are produced according to ISO 10325-2009 and they comply with OCIMF’s latest regulations & KATRADIS MARINE ROPES INDUSTRY SA has developed the Linear Structural Preformation,
recommendations according to MEG4 for the safe mooring of tanker-LNG-LPG vessels. a two-step procedure integrated in the rope manufacturing process.

Benefits over wire rope
• Safer, due to fewer hand injuries and reduced snap-back
KATRADIS meets the requirements of OCIMF and provides mooring ropes compliant to MEG4 for the safe • Increased safety: Reduced risk of injuries, reduced recoil effect,
mooring of commercial vessels (tankers, bulk carriers, LNG / LPG, etc.). reduced fatigue on operating crew
• Reduced operation costs: Reduced maintenance costs for both
the rope structure and the on-board equipment like chocks,
bollards etc., easily repairable, faster inspection and increased
healthy operational life
Rope Quality Certificate • Easier inspection
• Longer lifetime operation on board

Benefits over common synthetic rope

• Safer, due to reduced snap-back
• Increased safety: reduced recoil, simpler and easier handling
• Increased healthy operational lifetime

Nika® Lube Spray

Rope anti-abrassion lubricant
Nika® Lube Spray is a special lubricant which is used to improve the abrasion
performance of synthetic fiber ropes. The main benefit of this product is the en-
hanced abrasion resistance for both in yarn to yarn and yarn to metal surface
friction.
Nika® Lube Spray can be applied to any fiber rope surface that is intended to be
used in high abrasion conditions. The coefficient of friction will be decreased
and thus the resistance to abrasion will be more effective.
FEATURES:
• Reduces internal and external abrasion • Reduces heat generation from friction
• Helps avoid unsuitable grease • Suitable for all synthetic ropes • Environmen-

Retirement criteria of mooring tails Mooring Line Stopper

It is recommended as per MEG4 to retire mooring tails when the TDBF is reduced to 75% of the ship design
MLB (MLBSD), unless inspection calls for earlier retirement. For more information consult the User's
Manual for Synthetic Mooring Tails (provided by KATRADIS SA).

Future Technology We shape the future according to MEG4
Our new fully equipped R & D department is equipped with state-of-the-art next generation
technology at every step of quality control. Fully compliant with the new OCIMF requirements so
we can certify our ropes according to MEG4.
Evaluating the performance indicators of each rope type such as Line Design Break Force, Angled Endurance, An-
gled Break Force, tension-tension Endurance etc., needs specialized machinery. We at KATRADIS keep up-to-date
quality testing under computerized system.
