August 10, 2020 Due to the increasing number of COVID 19 cases in the Region and to ensure the safety of teachers, DepEd personnel, and volunteers during the start of Distance Learning particularly on the distribution and retrieval of Self Leaming Modules, the follo safety protocols and initiatives must be strictly observed: a. Teachers, DepEd personne! and volunteers are compulsory required to wear facemask, face shield, and other protective gear. School heads are mandated to purchase health equipment, disinfectant and other health essential items using MOOE and other available local funds. b. Regular hand washing, disinfection and social distancing must be required. c. School Heads and teachers are encouraged to establish/bulld partnership with Local Government Units, Barangay officials, Sangguniang Kabataan, parents, and other volunteers to mobilize them during distribution and retrieval of Self Learning Modules. Schoo! officials shall conduct orientation to those involved in distance leaming on proper heaith protocols and guidelines inviting resource persons from ‘competent agencies. 4. School officials must establish drop off and pick up areas/points of Self Leaming Modules on strategic location within the school premise and barangay hall to lessen personal contact among School Officials, Barangay Officials, SK, parents, and other volunteers. Teachers with prevailing illness and senior citizens must not be required to distribute or retrieve modules but to be given lighter assignments to protect them from acquiring infection disease of COVID-19 and other sickness.
