IIITDM Kancheepuram recently celebrated World Bicycle Day with a remarkable event focused on
preserving and restoring the beauty of our surroundings. A 12km cycling rally to Kumizhi Lake was
organized, with the primary objective of cleaning up the plastic waste surrounding the lake. This
event aimed to raise awareness about the detrimental impact of plastic pollution on our
environment and inspire action towards its eradication. Participants enthusiastically joined the
cycling rally, pedalling alongside fellow environmental enthusiasts, and reached Kumizhi Lake to
engage in a dedicated cleaning activity. Through active participation in this endeavour, a tangible
difference was made, ensuring the preservation of the ecosystem for future generations. The event
united individuals in the spirit of environmental consciousness, leaving behind a greener, cleaner
legacy.
