Leadership Development Potential-Yazdan Fitter-Ethics&CSR - Pgdm&Cardiff-PGDMBDI3CM2226
Name: Yazdan Rusi Fitter Club name: Ethics & CSR Club
Based on the vision and mission of Ethics and CSR, I have undertaken several activities in various capacities that have led me to my
current role as the Head of MIS and an active participant:
1. Marketing Murlidhar: My first event at UBS was Marketing Murlidhar, organized by Matchbox events. It was a great
opportunity for me to experience being a club member while also supporting my friends in other clubs. This experience taught
me the value of supporting others and gave me a sense of fulfilment.
2. Village Livelihood: I supported the club's goal of promoting rural development through my involvement in the Village
Livelihood project. As part of the team, I helped design a training program for rural women to start and grow their businesses.
I developed a monitoring and evaluation framework to track the program's impact, enabling us to make data-driven decisions.
Our program was successful in contributing to the overall economic development of the villages where we worked.
3. Smart project: As a leader of a team of 34 students, I played a pivotal role in the successful implementation of my team under
the Smart project. I was responsible for overseeing the team project's entire lifecycle, from ideation to execution, and
ensuring that all project deliverables were completed on time and within budget. Through my leadership, we were able to
develop a cutting-edge software solution that helped streamline the club's internal processes and improve our overall
efficiency. This project helped us achieve our goal of building a more robust and sustainable organization and also made me
more aware of where a student like me need to grow in relation to being a leader or how to interact with people of different
customs.]
4. Recylebia 2.0: I helped in the smooth functioning of the recycling program as part of the Recyclebia 2.0 project to reduce
waste and promote responsible consumption among club members. My role was to manage the data analytics platform,
which allowed us to track progress and find ways to improve. We succeeded in significantly reducing waste and promoting
sustainability among members, which was in line with the club's goals.’
• Overall, the club enabled my personal and professional growth while making a positive impact on society.
SECTION A2: SELF ASSESSMENT (TO BE COMPLETED BY THE STUDENT)
In relation to each of the activity conducted during your tenure in the relevant club, please provide a summary of key learning
points/skills. For example- have you acquired any new transferable skills / what have you learnt about yourself-good or weak
from management student perspective / any further developments you may need and plan to address it.
SELF-AWARENESS (25 marks)
During my time in the Ethics and CSR, I believe I have developed and gained the following skills:
1. Collaboration: Being a part of a club requires collaboration and teamwork, which helps develop your ability to work
with others effectively.
2. Communication: Being a part of a club also requires communication skills, including the ability to express your
ideas clearly, listen actively to others, and provide constructive feedback.
3. Leadership: If you held a leadership position in the club, whether it be for specific events or being a MIS officer,
you likely developed leadership skills such as delegation, motivation, and conflict resolution.
4. Project management: Participating in club projects or events may have given you experience in project
management, including planning, executing, and evaluating projects.
5. Time management: Balancing your club responsibilities with your academic workload and other commitments
likely required good time management skills.
6. Ethics and CSR knowledge: Through your participation in the Ethics and CSR club, you may have developed a
deeper understanding of ethical and social issues, as well as strategies for addressing them.
7. Event planning: If you were involved in planning club events, you may have developed event planning skills such as
budgeting, marketing, and logistics.
8. Networking: Participating in the club may have given you the opportunity to network with other like-minded
individuals who are passionate about ethics and CSR.
These could be the skills which I was known during my first year and I wish to adapt to these well during my second
year of Ethics and CSR.
