Preface

This book is an introduction to the Inorganic Pharmaceutical substances and

their applications in ield of Pharmacy and Chemistry. Each chapter is largely
self-contained, started with a fundamental knowledge of each inorganic drug
and eventually deals with all its speci ications like method of preparations,
identi ication tests, impurity pro iling and testing and assay.
All the chapters in this book are in accordance with the syllabus of various
Universities of Nepal, like Purbanchal University, Tribhuvan University,
Kathmandu University and Pokhara University.
To make easy and effective understanding for students, this book also consists
list of Practical associated with the theory, which will de initely help the
students to learn. Point wise and tabular presentation of the topic is the main
features of this book. Hope this book will help B. Pharm & D. Pharm students
as well as chemistry students to understand Inorganic Pharmaceutical
substances, impurities and their limit test procedures in easy way.
I express my gratitude to my colleagues, friends and family who, by their
encouragement and advice helped me to write this book.
I am grateful to Mr. Mohan Acharya, CEO, Samiksha Publication, Kathmandu
for the interest for the preparation of the book.
Finally I thank my mother Punadevi Sharma and wife Roshani Bhattarai who
inspired me during the preparation of the book. I will welcome any criticism of
the subject matter and style for further improvement of this new enterprise.
