Objectives
Listening : You should be able to understand the spoken expressions of
greetings and introducing yourself.
Speaking : You should be able to use the expression of greetings and introduce
yourself orally.
Reading : You should be able to understand the descriptive text about a person.
Writing : You should be able to write a simple dialogue of greetings and a
paragraph about introducing yourself.

A. Expression of Greetings (Sapaan)

• Hi / hello
• Good morning/ afternoon/ evening
• How are you? (Apa kabarmu?)
• How do you do? (Menanyakan kabar kepada seseorang yang baru
pertama kali kenal)
• Nice to meet you (Senang bertemu denganmu)
• Glad to see you (Senang bertemu denganmu)

Example of Dialogue (Contoh dialog)

Rita : Hello.. My name is Rita.
How do you do, sir?
Mr. Nick : Hi, I'm Mr. Nick. How do you do?
Rita : Where are you from?
Mr. Nick : I'm from Malaysia.
Rita : Nice to meet you.
Mr. Nick : Nice to meet you too.
B. Expression to Introduce Yourself
(Ungkapan untuk memperkenalkan diri)
Key words for introducing yourself/ personal identity:
a. fullname (nama lengkap)
b. nickname (nama panggilan)
c. hometown ( asal )
d. address (alamat)
e. age (umur)
f. class/ grade (kelas)
g. school (sekolah)
h. hobby (hobby)
i. number of brothers/ sisters (jumlah saudara)
j. favorite ( color, song, movie, food, drink, subject )
k. father's/ mother's job (pekerjaan orang tua)
