Write PERSONAL REFLECTION QUESTIONS
How do I decide what goals are important to me
in life? What helps me stick to my plan until I
achieve my goal? What got in my way of me not
reaching some the goals I care about? What
can I change, so I am more likely to keep striving
and reach my goals?
Encouraging Others
How can you create messages of kindness to
display for others to see outside your living area?
(examples of messages: Keep Hopeful, Choose
Happy) (use chalk, posters, etc.)
Create the next story in your favorite book series.
Write a poem (at least 2 stances) Then decorate
the page with pictures that represents the poem.
Write and create a narrative children’s book fora
kindergartener, or a 1st grader with illustrations.
Then practice reading it aloud.

Reading Surprise
Round up gift wrap paper or gift bags. Choose
or have someone also choose some books,
articles, or magazines from your home library.
Wrap them! Then everyday randomly pick one
to read independently or with someone.
Writing: Flat Earth
Some people still believe that the Earth is
flat. Do you agree or disagree? Include
supporting facts.
Write your own graphic novel or comic strip.
Remember to revise and edit your work!
Become a teacher for a day! Create a quiz for
your favorite subject! Then create an answer key.
Play Mood Charades
Come up with 20 different moods, and write
each on a slip of paper. Examples to get you
started: Nervous Confused Frustrated Hopeful
Excited Stern Uncertain Confident
Create a family scrapbook with captions. Show
off your dialogue skills with proper punctuation.
Write a children’s book or song to explain how to
do something. Think about the skills that were
hard for you and how you now understand them
better. (i.e. Tying your shoes, subtracting, the
rules to capital letters, cracking open an egg
without making a mess)
Turn anything written into a theatre or TV
production! See a newspaper? Pretend you are
a newscaster and read the stories while sitting at
a table. See a children’s book? Put on your best
silly voice and read it with enthusiasm!
Write an persuasive essay. Need an idea? You
could argue why cell phones or pets should be
allowed in schools.
Make a time capsule! One day you can use to tell
your kids about all this craziness. Write a series of
letters to yourself and put them in the time capsule.

Darle ánimos a otros
¿Cómo puedes crear mensajes de amabilidad
para demostrar a otros y lo vean afuera del área
donde vives? (ejemplos de mensajes: mantente
con esperanza, Escoge ser feliz) (Usa tiza,
pancartas, etc.)
Crea tu próximo cuento en tu libro favorito de
series.
Escribe un poema (por lo menos dos posturas).
Luego decora la página con dibujos que
representen el poema.
Escribe y crea un libro infantil narrativo con
ilustraciones para los estudiantes del kinder o de
primer grado. Enseguida practica leyéndolo en voz

Una sorpresa de lectura
Reúne papel de envoltura o bolsas para regalo.
Escoge o que alguien más escoja algunos libros,
artículos o revistas de tu biblioteca en casa.
¡Envuelvelos! Después cada dia, al azar, escoge
uno para leerlo independientemente o con alguien.
Escritura: El mundo plano
Algunas personas todavía piensan que la Tierra
esta plana. ¿Estas de acuerdo o no? Incluye
hechos que lo apoyan.
Escribe tu propia novela gráfica o tiras cómicas.
¡Recuerda de revisar y editar tu trabajo!
¡Sé un maestro por un dia! ¡Crea una prueba para
tu materia favorita! Después crea una clave de
respuestas.
Juega a la caracterización de ánimos
Piensa en 20 formas de ánimos diferentes y
escribe cada uno en una hoja de papel. Ejemplos
que te ayudan a comenzar: nervioso, confundido,
frustrado, esperanzado, entusiasmado, serio,
incierto, confiable.
Haz un álbum de recortes con subtítulos. Presume
tus destrezas de diálogo con la puntuación
apropiada.
Escribe un libro infantil o una canción para explicar

para contarle a tus hijos toda esta locura. Escribe
una serie de cartas para ti mismo y ponlos en la
cápsula del tiempo.
 Personal Reflection Questions
● What was the nicest thing someone in our class did for
you this year?
● Of the books you read this year, which was your
favorite? Why?
● What is something we did this year that you think you
will remember for the rest of your life?
Thank You Letters
Write 2-3 thank you letters to those that have helped you
this school year. It can be to friends, teachers, school staff
members, nurses, or anyone that has helped you. Include
how they helped you this year and show your appreciation.
Write a Prequel
Create the prequel (the story of what happened before the
book you read) of your favorite book.
Poetry
Write a short poem (5-10 lines) using hyperboles (extreme
exaggeration). Each line is a hyperbole.
Ex: He's running faster than the wind.
Favorite School Moment
Write a story about your favorite moment at school this
year. Include details and feelings.

Comic Strip
Draw and color at least 6 frames of a comic strip showing a
scene in a chapter of the book you are reading. Make sure
to include “dialogue bubbles” so that the reader can follow
along with the action.
Would You Rather...
Would you rather be a superhero yourself or be best friends
with your favorite superhero? Explain your choice.
Chopped: Home Edition
Choose a recipe from a cookbook or create your own
original recipe. Document the process of making your dish
with drawings and notes on paper. Include details about
ingredients, measurements, and the steps involved in
making this dish.
Welcome Students
Can you remember how you felt on the first day of this
school year? Teachers don't want any of the students next
year feeling scared or nervous on their first day, and we
would like your help. Write a letter to the student who will
be sitting in your desk next year. Include advice and what
to expect during the school year.
Create a Product
As you watch commercials on television, invent a product
and write slogans or an ad for it.
Become the Illustrator
Read an article in a newspaper or a chapter in a book and
draw a comic strip to show what happened in that article or
chapter. Bring the text to life with images and captions.
Playlist
Compile a playlist for your current mood. Your playlist must
have a minimum of 10 songs. Give your playlist a name,
describe the overall vibe of your playlist and explain why
you selected these specific songs.
Look and You Will Find
Create a themed scavenger hunt. Choose your favorite
sport, movie, book, or subject in school and use that as
inspiration to create a scavenger hunt with clever clues.
Once you’ve created your scavenger hunt, invite someone
in your family to try and figure out your clever clues!
It’s All Fun and Games
Play a board game or card game with your family. Then
redesign the board game box or cover to appeal to people
looking for a distraction while stuck at home.
Let Me Introduce Myself
Write a letter to your next year’s teacher. Introduce yourself
to the teacher. Include what motivates you to learn, what
you are looking forward to learning, and any questions you
have about middle school.

Escribir una precuela
Crea la precuela (la historia de lo que sucedió antes del

¿Prefieres ser un superhéroe o ser el mejor amigo de tu

Picado: Home Edition
Elige una receta de un libro de cocina o crea tu propia
receta original. Documenta el proceso de hacer tu plato
con dibujos y notas en papel. Incluye detalles sobre los
ingredientes, las medidas y los pasos necesarios para
preparar este plato.

Crea una búsqueda del tesoro temática. Elige tu deporte,
película, libro o materia favorita en la escuela y úsala como
inspiración para crear una búsqueda del tesoro con pistas
inteligentes. Una vez que hayas creado tu búsqueda del
tesoro, ¡invita a alguien de tu familia a que intente
descubrir tus pistas inteligentes!

Juega un juego de mesa o de cartas con tu familia. Luego
