Press Release - Stolen Weimaraner
About - Thomas Caso and myself dropped off Cash on January 12th, 2022 with Sonia Choi - who was also
the breeder of Cash, and someone we trusted. Choi began soliciting boarding for Cash in April 2021
when her sire was hit by a car outside of her office at 95 Main Street in Matawan, NJ. We finally took
her up on the offer in January 2022, since we had plans to go out of town. The day we dropped Cash off
with Choi in Matawan, NJ - we were asked to sign a permission- authorizing Choi to bring Cash to the
training we had discussed, and in case he needed veterinarian care. Thomas read the permission
agreement, signed and dated. We later find out - Choi has presented to the police and the training
center a forged “surrender of ownership“ in attempt to cover up the theft. We have since hired a
Forensic Handwriting Expert, who has proved in a 31 page detailed report - the signature on the
“surrender” document was written by a different hand than Thomas Caso, with evidence of white out,
amongst other discrepancies. Choi has handed off our dog, Cash, to a third party business associate of
hers, David Grippi. Grippi was aware Cash was not being surrendered, and told many times, yet he
continues to refuse to give him back.
We have filed criminal charges on Choi for Theft by Deception, and Forgery. Charges on David Grippi
have been filed for Possession of Known Stolen Property.
We have had a Private Investigator, Stuart Goldman, helping us with our case and has put together a
legal package for the court, describing in detail the events surrounding this theft. Evidence and proof of
the theft is included in this package along with excellence in care, and receipts expecting Cash’s return.
Please see attached document “MATAWAN THEFT OF COMPANION ANIMAL” by Stuart Goldman.
Please shed some light on this horrific situation that it so deserves. We feel this has been a
“David vs. Goliath” battle and we do no intend to give up anytime soon. This is not only a fight to bring
our puppy home – it is a fight to protect all of our companion pets, as the laws in this country do not.
We have gained a great deal of support from the community, family, and friends in our petition with
over 1300 signatures and counting.
