Poverty

and its major causes in the Philippines

P O E T Y
V P R
Poverty
Ø Weak macroeconomic management is
caused by unemployment, national output,
and inflation.
Ø As the COVID-19 pandemic starts, it has a
big impact on our economy, especially on
some businesses. The higher the rate of
employment, the lower the chance a
country will experience inflation.
Ø Our government needs to establish
macroeconomic stability by establishing a
sustainable, uninflationary budget, but that
doesn't guarantee a higher rate of
economic growth.
Ø The employment issue involves the
workplace, job description, and skills.
Major causes of employment issues are
underemployment, which means
individuals are forced to work in low-paying
jobs because of labor utilization in the
economy.
Ø Workplace of the employee also affects the
employment issue, especially when there
is harassment and discrimination.
Ø Low wages at the bottom of the earnings
distribution and the low probability of
working full-time for a full year in low-wage
jobs increase the risk of poverty for
workers as well.
Ø Depending on the circumstances,
population expansion can have a beneficial
or bad impact.
Ø A big population has the potential to be
beneficial to economic development: after
all, the more people you have, the more
work you can perform, and the more labor
you can do, the more value (or money) you
can create.
Ø While more consumers means fewer
resources are accessible. If the population
continues to rise at an alarming rate, it may
become increasingly difficult for us to
provide everyone's fundamental
necessities.
Ø There is a lot of evidence that agriculture
can help to reduce poverty. Agricultural
development can spur economic growth
and job creation outside of the agricultural
industry. Increased agricultural productivity
boosts farm incomes, expands the food
supply, lowers food prices, and creates
more jobs in rural and urban regions.
Ø The fewer agricultural performing, the
lower the job rate, incomes, and food
supplies.
Ø The agriculture sector's underperformance
is due to the poor price of its products.
Innovation and technology also play a role,
whether in a negative or positive way.
Ø The perception of government illegitimacy
is exacerbated by corruption, trapping the
state in a vicious circle of insecurity.
Although corruption may be a way of life
for citizens in failed governments, it
jeopardizes the path to a legal
administration and is not a long-term
solution for economic development and
social stability.
Ø If corruption occurs in one country, all
sectors are affected. The taxes and bills
we pay are for development, not for
politicians who aren't worthy.
Conflict and security issue
Ø The current armed conflict in Mindanao
underscores the repeated appeal for the
realization of the Muslim population's right
to self-determination in order to achieve
long-term peace in the Philippines.
Thousands of people have died, and
practically all infrastructure has been
destroyed as a result of the battle.
Ø The more infrastructures are demolished,
the more money and resources will be
available to restore and rehabilitate the
affected area.
Ø The money being spent to develop new
infrastructure is being wasted, resulting in
poverty and a country's weak state.
Disability
Ø D isability can also lead to pover ty by
pr ohibiting people w ith disabilities fr om
fully par ticipating in their com m unities'
legal, political, econom ic, and social life,
especially if adequate suppor ts and
accom m odations ar e not available.
Ø It also leads to pr ejudice, social
m ar ginalization, and isolation, as w ell as
an inability to pr epar e for and
m eaningfully par ticipate in the labor
for ce, as w ell as a lack of access to
education, suitable housing, nutr itional
food, clean w ater , basic sanitation,
healthcar e, and cr edit.
Ø People's ear ning potential can be
har m ed by disabilities.
