Achievements :

A. Setting up of AIIMS :

I. Six functional AIIMS under Phase-I : The major achievements of Six functional AIIMS
(AIIMS-Patna, AIIMS- Rishikesh, AIIMS-Jodhpur, AIIMS-Bhopal, AIIMS-Bhubaneswar and
AIIMS- Raipur) are as under;

o 5973 Beds are functional (including 310 temporary beds).

o The number of daily OPD patients is more than 14500.
o On an average , about 6200 major surgeries are getting performed every month.

II. New AIIMS under Phase-II, IV, V, VI, VII : 15 new AIIMS sanctioned / approved since
May 2014 taking the tally of AIIMS to 22.
The newly approved AIIMS are at various stages of completion:
o MBBS classes and OPD services started- AIIMS at Gorakhpur (UP),
Raebareli(UP), Nagpur(Maharashtra), Kalyani(West Bengal), Mangalagiri (Andhra
Pradesh) Bibinagar (Telangana) Bathinda(Punjab), Deoghar(Jharkhand),
Bilaspur(Himachal Pradesh) and Rajkot (Gujarat)- [Total- 10] of these ,IPD
facilities at limited scale have also been started in AIIMS at
Gorakhpur,Raebareli,Bibinagar,Bathinda,Nagpur,Mangalagiri and Bilaspur.
o Only MBBS classes started- AIIMS at Guwahati (Assam), Vijaypur (Jammu) and
Madurai( Tamil Nadu) [Total - 3]
o At initial stages- AIIMS at Awantipora (Kashmir), Darbhanga (Bihar)* and
Manethi (Haryana)*- [Total - 3]
* Land Yet to be provided by state Govt.

B. Up-gradation of existing GMCs:

o Construction of Super Specialty Block / Trauma Centers in 5 9 out of 75

GMC approved projects completed
o More than 13000 super –specialty beds added.
