Activities: Choose any three from the choices below

1. Design a poster for a film of the book. Would you use a key moment from
the story? What characters might you show? What would be your tag line?
What mood or atmosphere will you try to capture? How will you achieve this?
2. Write an alternative ending to your story. Remember to write as if you were
the author. (250- 300 words)

ends. How has their life changed? What has happened in all that time?

up or how should they change? Explain why you choose those characters and
how you think the resolutions will benefit them? (200-250 words)
5. Write an email to the publisher commenting on the book cover. Do you like
it or not? Does it appeal to a teenage audience? Why are book covers so
important? Design an alternative cover and explain why your cover is a better

Mathematics Activity 1: Math Board Game Creation

Objective: Design and create your own math board game to reinforce
math concepts and promote critical thinking skills.
Materials Needed:
- Large sheet of paper or cardboard for the game board
- Markers, colored pencils, or crayons
- Index cards or small pieces of paper
- Dice or a spinner (can be made from cardboard)
- Game pieces (coins, small figurines, buttons, etc.)
- Timer (optional)
- Scissors and glue (if needed)
Instructions:
1. Choose a specific math concept or skill that you want to
focus on for your board game. It could be multiplication, fractions,
geometry, or any other topic you find interesting or challenging.
2. Brainstorm ideas for your game. Think about how the game will
be played, what the objectives or goals will be, and how players can use
math to advance in the game. Consider adding elements of strategy,
problem-solving, or critical thinking.
3. Design your game board. Use the large sheet of paper or cardboard
to create a visually appealing game board. You can draw a path with spaces
for players to move along, or create a more complex layout based on your
game's theme. Add colorful illustrations and labels to make it visually
engaging.
4. Create game cards or question cards. Write down math-related questions,
challenges, or problems on
index cards or small pieces of paper. Make sure the questions are appropriate
for your grade level and align with the math concept you have chosen. You
can have different categories or levels of difficulty for the questions.
5. Determine the game rules and mechanics. Decide how players
will progress through the game, whether it's by answering questions
correctly, solving puzzles, or using strategic moves. Think about
additional
elements like bonus spaces, penalties, or rewards to make the game more
exciting and interactive.

6. Decorate and assemble the game components. Use markers,

colored pencils, or crayons to decorate the game board, cards, and any
other game components. Cut out and glue any additional elements you
want to include, such as score trackers, instructions, or decorations.
7. Test and revise your game. Play the game by yourself or with family
and friends to see how it works. Take note of any areas that may need
improvement or clarification. Make adjustments to the rules, questions, or
design based on feedback or your own observations.
8. Optional: Add a time element to the game. If you want to add an
extra challenge, use a timer to add a sense of urgency to the gameplay.
Players might have to answer questions or complete tasks within a certain
time limit to progress.
9. Play and share your game. Once you are satisfied with your board
game, invite others to play it. Share it with your family, friends, or
classmates, and encourage them to provide feedback on their experience.
Consider creating instructions or a guide to help others understand how to
play.
