VIRTUAL

REALITY
(VR)
NAME : CHIAM TAT YAN
STUDENT ID : 22UEB06747
PROGRAMME : QUANTITY SURVEYING
What is VR (Virtual Reality)
● an end-to-end digital mechanism that mimics our natural
surroundings through computer programming.
● Lifelike representations of humans react with virtual objects via
mobiles or VR headsets to perform everyday tasks.
● These interactions are supplemented with cloud computing, AI, and
multisensory human stimuli.
● technology behind the "metaverse,"

How VR works?
● see, hear, and feel
● VR designers use the basic rules of perception and ideas of how we
interact with the world to create environments that feel just as real
as the world around us.
Application of VR in our life
1. Architecture
2. Real estate and Interior design
3. Virtualized meetings
Architecture
● VR makes it possible to see not just what a building or space will
look like but how it will feel.
● Using immersive tools allows them to understand and explore the
space at the deepest level possible.
● Ex: if someone was looking to add an extension to their property,
they can experience the space and what it will look like before it's
physically built and then make real-time changes. This saves the
customer and architect time and money, as well as increases
satisfaction with the completion of the project.
Real estate and Interior design
● Explore houses online and get a 'feel' for the space, saving time
looking rounds places that might be smaller, dark, or otherwise
not what you expected.
● You can now use immersive experiences to mimic the interior
design too
● 3D visualizations of the interior of their home or workspace -
from lighting to ventilation, color schemes, and products
themselves.

● Matterport 3D camera produces realistic scanning of buildings

which you can visit in VR.

Virtualized meetings
● With collaboration tools such as whiteboards and freehand 3D
drawings, we help remote or hybrid meetings become as good
as face-to-face meetings, without the time and cost needed to
travel.
● Immerse themselves in the topic and virtual space, and build
stronger connections with each other compared to events via
traditional video conferencing tools.
● Platforms such as Glue, Arthur, and Meeting Room
CONCLUSION
● VR is helpful no matter in studying
or working.
