STATUS OF AVAILABLE CURRICULA AT LEVEL 1

One of the Rwanda TVET Board (RTB) mandates is to design curricula, teaching materials,
trainers and trainee guides, and methodologies and establish training methods for technical and
vocational education and training from level one (1) to five (5).
With reference to ministerial order n° 002/MINEDUC /2021 of 20/10/2021 establishing
curriculum in general, professional and technical, and vocational basic education, 40
Trades/programs supposed to be at Level. Currently 13 curricula are available at this level and
are most implemented by TVET schools. 10 of them have been developed before the
establishment of the ministerial order establishing curriculum in general, professional and
technical, and vocational basic education and 3 of them have been developed following the
ministerial order guidance.

Note: Some of those curricula are being implemented by schools, even if are not revised.
Therefore, we recommend to keep them being used and they will be phasing out progressively as
we are providing the new programs as RTB is highly aiming at revising the most wanted
programs/curricula at that level.
