INSTALLATION
1
1. From the kit, assemble the sensor bracket, 4, to
the new left-hand guide bracket, 1, as follows: 2
Insert the two M8 x 30 carriage bolts, 2, outward
through the guide bracket, 1.
10
2. Drill and tap the left end of the roller, 1, as follows:
Use the spacer plate, 2, as a template, and align
it to the V-guide hub on the left end of the roller, 1.
3
Mark and center-punch four spacer (template)
holes on the hub end of the roller. The hole 4
centers are at 90° intervals on a 65 mm (2.56 in)
diameter.

5. Install the conveyor roller with the left and
right-hand guides, 1, directed into to the PSD 4
frame, 2. 3
2
Install the rocker, 3, onto the tension push rods, 1
4, and then insert the adjustment linkage push
rods on both sides of the PSD frame
simultaneously through the rocker support, 5, on
the guides.

6. Install the sensor, 4, in the sensor bracket, 3, with
the sensor face indicated by, 2, facing the sensor
target plate indicated by, 1. Adjust the nuts and
lock washer to position the sensor face, 2, within
4 - 6 mm (0.157 – 0.236 in), A, clearance of the
sensor target plate, 1.

8. Install the conveyor belt, 2, with the belt
V-tongue, 4, positioned to the left.
1 3
Wrap the belt around the drive and driven rollers
and ensure the belt tongue, 4, is positioned in
both roller V-grooves, 3.
2
NOTE: Install the conveyor belt with care when
feeding the belt under the rubber seals along the
deflectors on either side of the PSD frame, as to not
tear the seals. Replace torn or damaged seals.
4
Install the belt connecting hardware (bolts, 3
connector bars, and locknuts), 1. Ensure the bolt 66060038
heads are positioned towards the direction of 17
travel. Tighten and torque belt hardware to 3.5 -
4.5 N⋅m (30 – 40 in-lb).
9. Install the right-hand conical deflector, A, and 86060041
left-hand deflector, B, to the side deflectors, 3, 2
with the two M10 x 20 cap screws, 2, nuts, and 3
lock washers. B
3
Install the loose end of the rubber seal with two
M6 x 16 cap screws, 1, nuts, and lock washers. 2
Do not over-tighten the hardware as to compress
or twist the seal. 1
IMPORTANT: Adjust and tension the conveyor A
before running unit as described in PSD Conveyor
Belt Adjustment. 1

Sensor Electrical Connection
NOTE: Locally procure approximately 15 wire ties for
routing the sensor cable from the sensor to the CCM2.
2
1
10. Connect the sensor cable plug, 1, to the sensor
connector receptacle, 2.
Route and wire tie the cable to the main frame
cable that runs along the left frame rail and over
the left front frame rail to the Combine Control
Modules (CCM2).

Components of the tension/tracking adjustment
linkage on the left side of the unit as seen from within 21
the straw-hood under the PSD conveyor looking up
and forward are as follows:
1. Cotter pin and washer
2. Rocker support
3. Rocker
4. Jam nuts
5. Push rod
6. Quadrant hex (1-1/8 in)
7. Quadrant ratchet
8. Pawl
9. Conveyor frame
10. Conveyor belt
Tension the conveyor belt by applying a torque of 68
– 88 N⋅m (50 – 65 ft-lb) to the ratchet quadrant hex, 2
3, counterclockwise and engage the pawl, 4, in the 4
closest notch of the quadrant.

10
Verify the drive and driven rollers are parallel.
Measure the distance between the rollers on both
sides of the conveyor. Adjust the distance to be equal
at the right-hand side adjustment linkage, shown. 1

SOFTWARE INSTALLATION
Version
The PSD speed sensor is supported in CCM2
software version 31.01.07.00 and later. This
software is included on the Electronic Service Tool
version 4.4.
20060074
24
Alarm
Once installed, the software will monitor the PSD
speed sensor and alert the operator if the belt speed
drops too low (< 80% of expected). In addition to the
high priority pop-up alarm (A0127), there is an
audible alarm (the same as other shaft speed
alarms) and the “Residue” lamp on the SSM is
illuminated.

25
Alarm Code – PSD Conveyor Speed Sensor (B74)
12
Fault Detection/Diagnosis
If a fault is detected with the PSD speed sensor it is
displayed using the normal pop-up screens.
20060077
27
Speed Display
The operator can choose to display the PSD RPM* on
one of the working screens (Main Info or Custom Info).
