IV. ACTIVITIES/EXERCISES
1. Self-analysis. What is your position on diversity in the workplace? How
would you describe your attitude toward diversity? Be detailed in your
analysis.

I always see diversity as a great opportunity in a workplace. The


diversity in workplace brings advantages if it is taken positively. Diversity in
workforce causes innovation on everyone. The reason is everyone is
required to do things outside of their normal activities, allowing them to
come up with different solutions, suggestions, and perspective regarding a
problem or operation. Besides that, diversity pushes adaptability on
everyone since diverse people in a single company works together, along
with their set of skills in order for them to adapt and help each other to
increase productivity.

Although I am aware that I should not discriminate other individuals


in a workplace, I admit that there are times I can’t help myself but to be
prejudiced against others. But, I always keep those thoughts to myself
because I know that it is inappropriate and rude. They have the right to
express what and who they are, and it surely will deteriorate the
productivity of the workplace. The best thing I can do in this situation is
keep my mouth shut if it has something to do with their being, treat others
with respect, and slowly accept their wellbeing as a fellow worker despite
the differences. If I will continue keeping my thoughts to myself for a while,
I will eventually be used to it and I will surely not care about it anymore.

other than the United States. What commonalities are exposed and what
differences are shown to exist?
