Good Study Habits 3.3
Successful students learn to study smarter, not study harder by establishing good study
habits.
Here are some great study-smart tips.
Task:

1. Your instructor will explain the task to you.

2. Please write your answers on the sheet after listening to your peers.

Do not try to multitask, you can’t

Ans. Whenever it's your time to study, concentrate solely on that task. Do not try to do multi-
tasking because your brain is not good at it and whenever you try to do this you will get
bamboozled and will not be able to do single work effectively, so it would be better to avoid
doing this.
Establish a study space.
Ans. Make sure the area you will study is private so no one can disturb you, your chosen study
spot should have adequate lighting, a comfy chair, and all of the supplies you will need to
accomplish your goals.
Reduce distractions.
Ans. Well, whenever you are studying you have to make sure that your cell phone is off since it
will distract you to concentrate on your study or work and ask your family or roommate to stay
quiet. Not only this, but you also have to set a proper time for your study.
Finding your prime time
Ans. Consider the time of day that you work best and determine how much time you can work
before needing a break. The ideal time and duration of work may vary for each individual, so it's
important to find what works best for you and schedule your study time accordingly.
Set SMART study goals
Ans. Establishing a goal that is attainable, measurable, pertinent, and time-sensitive at the start of
each study session will let you know when the study period is finished, allow you to chop down
ambitions into manageable bits, and allow you to celebrate even the tiniest of triumphs.
Write and Re-write notes
Ans. There has been a lot of research done on the benefits of taking notes in class and during
study sessions, then rewriting and organizing all of them, as well as read your notes out loud.
This repetition engages more senses, which aids in information synthesis. Despite the fact that
many students now type or take notes digitally, making notes in pen and paper remains an
especially efficient educational strategy.

Use Mnemonic Devices

Ans. Mnemonic devices help students study by strengthening memory recall, improving
comprehension, and condensing knowledge into clear forms. They minimize distraction, enhance
confidence, and boost retention for a long time, making learning more fun and successful.
Mnemonics stimulate originality and adjust to varied topics benefiting a variety of learning
methods.
Practice self-care
Ans. Students must practice self-care in order to sustain their mental and physical well-being.
Academic, social, and personal commitments may all give rise to anxiety and fatigue. Exercise,
relaxation techniques, enough sleep, and leisure interests all help alleviate stress, enhance
concentration, and improve overall academic performance.
Just say no!
Ans. Students should set appropriate boundaries and prioritize their own well-being by saying no
to others when required. Saying no can help you avoid overcommitment and stress. It enables
students to concentrate on their schoolwork, personal development, and taking care of
themselves without feeling burdened by extra obligations. Learning to respectfully say no is an
important skill for sustaining balance and academic achievement.
