2. COURSE OBJECTIVES
This course introduces the principles and procedures related to the design, use and
launch of e-commerce ventures. It gives an overview of e-commerce and its effects on
business and society, introduces e-commerce business models, portrays the technological
infrastructure of e-commerce, discusses the intersection between marketing and e-
commerce, and does all this in context – by presenting and discussing real e-commerce
cases, such as Facebook.com, eBay.com, Amazon.com and many other ecommerce
companies in Vietnam and other countries.
Provides current and emerging issues in business transactions over the electronic
medium and examines issues and topics in the functional areas of business as they relate to
electronic commerce. Includes study of business models and concepts, infrastructure,
marketing, security and encryption, retailing, supply chain, ethical, social, and political
issues.

3. COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES


3.1. Learning outcomes about knowledge, skills, autonomy and responsibility
3.1.1. Knowledge
- CLO1: Identify and explain the theories, concepts and technologies properties of the
major types of e-commerce and describe how it differs from e-business.
- CLO2: Describe key business concepts and strategies applicable to e-commerce.
- CLO3: Identify basic marketing concepts to Internet marketing and main technologies
that support online marketing.
3.1.2. Skills
- CLO4: Skilled in strategic planning, business planning and implementation ecommerce
strategy.
- CLO5: Ability to work independently and in a team, especially in an international
business environment
- CLO6: PLO10: Have skills in using English fluently (equivalent to Level 5/6 of the
Vietnamese Foreign Language Competency Framework promulgated together with
Circular No. 01/2014/TT-BGDĐT);
- CLO7: Have advanced office computer skills (According to Circular 03/2014/BTTTT)

6. COURSE POLICY
6.1. Missions of students
- Read materials and prepare before attending class.
- Fulfill all assigned tasks.
- Prepare the discussion of the course.
6.2. Regulations of exam
- Students have to attend at least 75% of the total class.
- Fulfill all assigned tasks of the course.

- Assignments which exceed total number of required page will be deducted 10%
of total point;
- Assignments which are similar at least 50% will be halved;
