“Describe a time you got lost.

Last summer, my best friend and I went travelling in China and got lost. As a pessimistic person,
I thought of the worst scenarios while my friend, an optimistic person, stayed positive and said
comforting words to calm me down. Although I acted childishly and almost cried, she was
sympathetic towards my panic and said she understood my feelings. We didn’t have access to
the Internet so it was impossible to search online maps for directions. Then she came up with
the idea that we should ask the local people for directions, which was very wise of her. As
expected, my friend, being extroverted , felt totally comfortable talking to the locals.
Fortunately, they were enthusiastic to help. We both didn’t know Chinese, so the
communication was difficult, but they were very patient as they tried to explain as slowly and
clearly as possible for us to understand. We came to China expecting an interesting trip with a
lot of amusing stories to tell, but instead, we had an unpleasant experience. But at least I got a
reliable friend that I could count on!
