ANOOP’S RESIDENCE - yuuga designs

The aim was to make an elegant and enduring design, that is

both comfortable and classic, comprising both traditional and
contemporary design techniques. the resultant design suits the
needs of a middle class family both aesthetically and economically.

ANOOP’S RESIDENCE - yuuga designs

An example of tropical, minimal architecture, the design explores an open plan layout,
maximizing openings and minimalistic furniture.

It also intends to bring greenery into the space and ensure sufficient provisions for
fresh air circulation. For this, functional spaces are provided with adjoining courtyards
and patios. These are then lined with walls with perforations and jaali blocks to ensure
privacy and ventilation.

All the furniture is customised according to the design motto. GI frames with soft-wood
panels are used for this purpose, making it easily accessible as well as affordable.

The layout on the ground floor is fairly open. The entrance door opens to a foyer which
leads to an open living area and dining space. The dining area is separated by an industrial
partition from the family living area. This space is connected to an open patio that leads
to the outer yard. An open metal staircase with wooden steps and cement sheet railing
design adds to the aesthetic of the interior space. Both the Ground floor and First Floor
consists of 2 bedrooms each with attached toilets. Additionally, the house consists of a
modern kitchen and a work area. All of this comprises this 2,800 sq. ft. home.
