Courtyard effect : As the climate of Delhi is hot and dry so due
to the construction of courtyard in center of the site and the
building is constructed around it which forms a good circulation
of air in all the areas.
Diffused day lighting: For diffuse day lighting jaalis is been
constructed. Also on one of the exterior wall of the hostel the
material used is fiber and it covered with concrete blocks such a
way that it forms jaali and pass diffused light in the interior.
• Respecting the garden traditions of north
India and the refinement of indigenous
techniques, stein integrated these elements
with the modern use of exposed concrete
and massive piers and exposed roof Over hanging eaves
patterns.
• The use of local materials such as rugged
quartzite stone and blue kota flooring is
softened by screened jalis in ceramic blue
tiles that resonate with the intricate patterns
found in Islamic architecture.
