Please stand (witness complying), do you swear to the

truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth before this
court?
A Yes, ma’am.

Q Please state your name, age, address and your other

personal circumstances?
A I am PCPL Mareno Leonardo, 34 years of age, married,
assigned at Police Station 3, Talipapa, poseur buyer in this
case.

FISCAL MENDIETA:
May I proceed, your. Honor.

We are offering the testimony of this witness to prove the
material allegations in the information and such other
matters related thereto.

DIRECT EXAMINATION
BY FISCAL MENDITA
Q Officer Leonardo, do you recall any unusual incident in this
case on July 7, 2020 at around 11:30 in the evening?
A Yes, sir.

Q And what particular incident do you recall?

A We have a buy bust operation, sir.

Q Before this buy bust operation as you said, what led you to
this buy bust operation or how did it begin?
A While we were in the office at 9:00 o’clock in the evening,
our reliable confidential informant arrived, sir.

Q What did this informant do while you were at your office?

A He relayed an information regarding alias Master who is
selling illegal drugs particularly at Barangay Bahay Toro,
sir.

Q And what did your office do upon receipt of this

information against alias Master?
A We informed our Chief SDEU Major Nacop, sir.

Q After the information was relayed, what was the response

of your Commanding Officer?
A We are directed by our Chief SDEU to verify the veracity
of the report regarding aka Master, sir.

Q So what was the result of this verification that was

conducted?
A Our SDEU Chief advised our informant to call alias Master,
sir.

Q Did your RCI comply with the advice of your Chief, Mr.
witness?
 A Yes, sir.

Q And what was the result thereof?

A Natawagan po ng aming RCI na makipag meet up sa Road
1, corner Mindanao Avenue katabi lang po ito ng Sogo
Hotel, mga 4:00 daw ng madaling araw.

Q What was supposed to happen during this meet up between

your RCI and your target alias Master?
A We will buy shabu, sir, worth Php200.00.

Q So how did you prepare for the conduct of this buy bust
operation as poseur buyer?
A Our Chief SDEU directed us to conduct buy bust operation
and I was designated as a poseur buyer, sir.

Q After you designated as poseur buyer, will you perform

your task?
A I was given two pieces100 peso bill and it was also agreed
upon that when the transaction was consummated, I will
remove my ball cap, sir.

Q You mentioned receiving two pieces of 100 peso bill buy

bust money, what did you do with the same after you
received it?
A I marked my initial inside the BSP logo ML.

Q Could you show this marking you placed in the buy bust
money in front of the camera in your custody?

COURT INTERPRETER:
At this juncture, the witness is presenting in front of the
camera two pieces of 100 peso bill.

Q Can you mention the serial numbers on these two one

hundred peso bills with the markings ML you mentioned?
A Yung isa po DU364724, tapos yung isa po DXZ428619.

Q Could you turn over this buy bust money to the Honorable
Court along with the other evidence you recovered in your
custody?
A Yes, sir.
Q So after markings this buy bust money, what did your team
do next, Mr. witness?
A PCPL Allam coordinated with the DDEU and PDEA for
the pre-ops, sir.

Q So after this coordination with the PDEA, what did your

team do next, Mr.witness?
A Around 2:00 a.m., sir, all the necessary documents were
completed and it was also discussed that when the
transaction was consummated I will remove my ball cap,
sir.

Q So when exactly did you proceed to this agreed transaction

area, Mr. witness?
A Along Mindanao Avenue, road 1 near Sogo Hotel, sir.

Q Upon arrival thereat, what did you notice and what time do
you recall that was, Mr. witness?
A Around 4:00 a.m., nagtungo na po kami sa area, nakita po
namin yung aka Master kasama ko po ang RCI, pinimpoint
niya po.

Q Upon seeing this alias Master at the agreed location, what

did your target do at that time?
A He was standing at the corner along Mindanao Avenue, sir.

Q So what did you and your RCI do next after seeing him
standing at the corner?
A Kami ay patagong nagpark at naglakad kaming dalawa ng
RCI papunta kay alias Master.

Q What did alias Master do after seeing you approached?

A Lumapit po kami at nagkaroon ng maikling pag-uusap at
tinanong po ako ni alias Master.

Q What was your response to the question of alias Master?

A Yung tanong po sa akin ni alias Master, “Pogi, magkano ba
iiskorin mo, gusto mo libre na pasok tayo sa loob’.

Q And what was your response to the statement of alias

Master?
A Ang sabi ko po, “dos lang kuya, next time na lang”.
Q So what did alias Master do after you told him “dos lang
kuya”?
A Kumuha po si alias Master sa kanyang kanang bulsa ng
color gray coin purse.

Q And what did he get from this coin purse?

A One small heat sealed transparent sachet suspected to be
shabu, sir.

Q What did he do with the same?

A Inabot niya po ito sa akin at inabot ko na rin yung P200.00
buy bust money.

Q What did alias Master do with the buy bust money you
handed over to him?
A He was just holding it, sir.

Q So what happened next during your transaction with alias

Master?
A Habang tinitingnan ko yung sachet may dumating pong
dalawang lalaki sakay ng isang motorcycle.

Q What did these two male persons on a motorcycle do after

their arrival?
A Sinabi kay alias Master na kunin ko na yung pinasabay
namin.

Q What was the response of alias Master?

A Binigyan ni alias Master ng tig-isang small heat sealed
transparent plastic sachet suspected to be shabu yung
dalawang lalaki, one each.

Q And what did these two individual do after being handed

the two plastic sachets?
A Pasakay na po sila ng motor nila, nag-execute na po ako
ng pre-arranged signal na na-consummate na po yung drug
transaction, namin.

Q And what was the response of your fellow police

operatives?
A My back-up immediately arrived, sir, and we introduce
ourselves as police officer, sir.

Q What did you do next after introducing yourself as police

officers?
A I informed my back-up, sir, that the two individuals
received shabu from alias Master, sir.

Q And after informing your back-up operatives of the

participation of the two other male individuals, what did
you do?
A I arrested alias Master, sir.

Q What did you do to the person of alias Master?

A I was able to seize from him the coin purse containing three
plastic sachets, sir.

Q What other items did you seize or recover from alias Master
if any?
A Habang kinakapkapan ko po baka may nakatagong patalim,
nag-resist po siya at itinulak ako, nagtangkang tumakas.

Q So what was your response after he tried to escape?

A Sa tulong po ng aking fellow operatives, sir, na subdue
naman namin si alias Master.

Q So you recovered among others this coin purse, what did

you do with the same upon its recovery?
A Inano ko po sa bulsa ko yung coin purse tapos yung tatlong
nasa loob po nakalagay po sa coin purse.

Q What were these three items inside the coin purse?

A Small heat sealed transparent plastic sachet suspected to be
shabu, sir.

Q So how would you be able to identify these three sachets of

suspected shabu as well as the subject of your buy bust
transaction?
A I have may markings and signature on it, sir.

Q And what particular markings did you place on the same,

Mr. witness?
A Myinitial, sir, and the initial of the suspect, sir.
 Q And what are these particular initials and markings if you
recall?
A The item that I bought, I marked BB-ML-AT 7-8-20 and
the other three, sir, ML-AT-1 7-8-20; ML-AT-2, 7-8-20,
ML-AT-3 7-8-20.

Q Would you be able to identify these actual items you

recovered if shown to you?
A Yes, sir.

At this point, your Honor, may we move for continuance
for the identification of the actual items recovered by this
witness.
