1. Solid content of epoxy shall be> 75 %.
2. The epoxy primer in system 1A is only necessary to maintain the integrity of the blasted steel surface. In situations where
the primer is required the MOFT shall increase to 525 μm.

6. Zinc rich Epoxy shall be 2 pack formulations containing minimum 80% zinc dust by mass in the dry film. Zinc dust shall
conform to ISO 3549.
7. For SONKER approved applications a SONKER approved surface tolerant epoxy mastic may be used in place of the zinc
primer.
8. System 1O may be applied for bulk valves in service up to 150 °C.
9. Zinc silicate shall have a minimum 85 % zinc dust in the dry film. Zinc dust shall conform to ISO 3549.
10. Primed surface of system 1E shall be free of zinc dust prior to top coating.
11. The underside of the tank bottom plates shall be blast cleaned (SA 2 ½) and coated with 300 microns of Refined
Hydrocarbon Resin Based Epoxy Mastic painting.
