    Interpretation :
    € Positive test indicates presence of SARS-CoV-2.
    € Negative test result indicates absence of SARS-CoV-2 or presence of SARS-CoV-2 below the assay detection limit.
    Comments :
    1. Results from RT PCR assay should be interpreted with other laboratory, radiological & clinical data especially in cases with Borderline
    positive Ct values (>30).
    2. Borderline positive cases (Ct Value >30) may give variable results on repeat testing. The possible reasons could be the variations in kits
    and instruments used.
    3. Negative results do not preclude CoVid-19 & should not be used as the sole basis for patient management decisions.
    4. False negative results may be due to poor quality of the specimen, low sample volume, timing of specimen collection (late or very early
    in the infection), inappropriate sample handling and shipping, treatment administered, inherent technical reasons like virus mutation,
    limit of detection or PCR inhibition.
    5. The results of this test are from the sample as received.
    Note :
    1. ICMR recommended kits are used for reporting.
    2. Test meets the performance standard of > 97% specificity, > 80% sensitivity at viral loads abpve 100,000 copies/ml.
    3. All specimen testing reports are notifiable to ICMR New Delhi & IDSP, Maharashtra state.
    4. The patient is advised to follow local, regional, national & international guidelines for travel, quarantine etc.
