A drafting table or a drawing table is a multi-purpose platform intended for architecture, engineering,

creative drawing, drafting, and sketching. The table consists of a rigid leg-support frame with a varying
slope top for the user’s usability. Drafting tables come in a multitude of vertical adjustments and top
sizes.

Drawing tables may be used for various tasks, including reading oversized papers and sketches and
drafting detailed drawings. In general, drafting tables are intended for use by architects, designers, and
engineers. They are also appropriate for students in architecture, engineering, and the arts.

Since these drafting tables are multi-functional, they are also beneficial to other creative professionals.
Fashion designers, interior designers, tailors, theater designers, filmmakers, cartographers, and
cartoonists are among them. The aesthetics of these drafting tables are another reason so many creative
professionals and hobbyists adore them. The majority of these tables are intended for artists.

Depending on the form and manufacturer, drafting tables have various materials and functionality. Their
common element is the ability to tilt the table or a part of it to see your work from different angles
without stressing your back or neck.

A compass, more accurately known as a pair of compasses, is a technical drawing instrument that can be
used for inscribing circles or arcs. As dividers, it can also be used as a tool to mark out distances, in
particular, on maps. Compasses can be used for mathematics, drafting, navigation and other purposes.

Use to draw a circles, can be made by pushing one leg of the compasses into the paper with the spike,
putting the pencil on the paper, and moving the pencil around while keeping the legs at the same angle.
Some people who find this action difficult often hold the compasses still and move the paper round
instead. The radius of the intended circle can be changed by adjusting the initial angle between the two
legs.

Distances can be measured on a map using compasses with two spikes, also called a dividing compass (or
just “dividers”). The hinge is set in such a way that the distance between the spikes on the map
represents a certain distance in reality, and by measuring how many times the compasses fit between
two points on the map the distance between those points can be calculated.

A3

A form of paper you’ll have encountered at work or school, A3 paper size stands at 297 x 420 mm, a
similar size but slightly different in proportions to a tabloid newspaper. One of the more popular paper
sizes around, this tends to be for posters, plans, charts and presentations. While not a go-to paper size
for home use, many business smart inkjet printers offer A3 print capability, with some even offering this
from an A4 size machine!
