SURFACE PREPARATION

Steel: Remove grease, oil and other contaminants by Solvent Cleaning as per SSPC SP1. Throughly dust down all
surfaces. Apply the primer and intermediate coat on a prepared, clean and dry surface within the overcoating interval. If
there is a delay beyond the overcoat interval, slightly roughen the surface using hand tool cleaning and apply the
intermediate coat. If there are spot rusting due to prolonged exposure without a top coat, then prepare the spots using
power tool to the bare metal and feather the edges as per SSPC SP11; spot repair with a coat of Self Priming Surface
Tolerant Coating, "Protectomastic", or as recommended by the repair coat specification. The surface should be clean
and dry before application of appropriate primer coat.

APPLICATION
Stir base throughly and then mix five parts base and one part catalyst by volume to uniform consistency. Allow the
mixture to mature for 10 minutes and stir again before application and during use.
Brush : Apply preferably without thinning.
Conventional Spray : Apply with NOT MORE than 30-45% Thinner. For small complicated item much higher application
viscosity is needed to avoid sagging and in that case thinner intake will be 20-25 %. Use any standard Equipment at an
atomising pressure of 4.2-4.9 Kg/Cm 2 using a hand gun with 1-1.2 mm orifice.
Airless Spray : Apply preferably without thinning. However, upto 5% Thinner TF1 may be added if absolutely essential
depending on conditions. Use any standard equipment having pump ratio 45 : 1, Tip size 0.43 to 0.53mm. Tip pressure
110 - 160 Kg/cm2.
