ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT ON GULAYAN SA PAARALAN, NUTRI
GARDEN IN HOMES

I. Introduction
Tisa II Elementary School’s, “Gulayan Sa Paaralan” is one the
projects implemented by the Department of Education, Cebu City Division and
Province, in which encouraged the pupils to plant varied vegetables like the
following:
Malunggay , alugbati , pechay , okra (green smooth) , eggplant, lemon grass,
pipino , upo and others. Gulayan Sa Paaralan also supplies partly in the
School’s feeding Program. Last October and Mid-week of November 2019, a
Nutri Garden Project was established in order to improve the value of the
”Gulayan Sa Paaralan” with the partnership of the East West Seed
Foundation and Nestle Philippines and Cebu Agriculture Department(CAD).
These institution/organization that plans and carries out the project that our
“Gulayan Sa Paaralan” that are now planting. They also giving the school the
vegetable seeds and gardening tools and seedlings.
The school also have the Urban Gardening using the empty five (5)
gallon container for the lemon grass and recycled tire for the pipino and sikwa
in which there are designs to make these materials presentable and usable. All
the planted vegetables are using organic fertilizers and no pesticides and
insecticides are used.
This School Year 2020-2021 we experienced this COVID -19
Pandemic, so as of this time we let the parents and encouraged them to plant
vegetables at home. Amidst of this pandemic for their survival.

II. Objectives
⮚ To maintain gardens as ready for food source of vegetables in
sustaining the daily needs.
⮚ To comprise among the learners the values of gardening, love
of labor, values of good health and caring for others.
⮚ To adds beauty to the school for being green and productive.

III. Future Plans

⮚ Improve the urban gardening in the house.
⮚ Make signages on the uses and importance of gardening.
⮚ Educate the parents on gardening.

IV. Issues and Concerns

✔ To give importance the value of vegetables in our health.
 ✔ To increase the skills of each learners to learn more about
gardening.
✔ To know the significance the usage of recycled materials.

V. Suggestions and Recommendations

● Well organized and properly supervised make the
” Gulayan At Home”.
● Sustainable the use of organic fertilizers to uplift the
vegetables.
● Continues support from the NGO’s, LGU’s and from the
National Budget.
● Involvement of parents in vegetable gardening.
● Teachers and learners how to make the most unique,
abundant and presentable.
