Update on Projects and Initiatives Projects and Initiatives
1) Q4 Projects ● Black Bar Crawl – 3 bars activated. 100+ participants, $10K in

b) AMP Wrap Up ● AMP Oakland Wrap Up – Pablo’s Alley, Franklin Square a total

c) Partner events ● LoveLife City campaign – this campaign was 2 weeks of
activation in the Rotunda City Plaza. Staff assisted with
creating collateral. Oct 20 was LoveLife Day in Oakland. The
goal is to continue to build community on a yearly basis
around the LoveLife Day campaign.
● Art Murmur partnership: Staff funded the creation of maps
for each district. Art Murmur has curated art walks on the 2nd
Saturday of each month. In addition, the districts were also
funded to create a digital version of the maps and a QR code
that leads to the Oakland Central website. It’s a merger of the
gallery world with the offerings in downtown.

● Featuring mural artists – 6 artists’ are being interviewed for a
5 minute campaign piece that can be added to the mural tour.
2023 Season of Events
● Pablo’s Alley 2023 – Staff may change up the format of the
program regarding how to source and manage vendors for
each event. Staff is In conversation with the City about the
vacancies on the plaza especially the Kiosk. The old Pro Arts
space is a COVID testing vs. an activated art space. The
vision is to grow the activation of the Pablo Alley stretch
with food, arts and crafts like a night market of food vendors
with availability on some weekdays and weekends.
● AMP Oakland – will continue to be the partner for Pablo’s
Alley and other areas. 13th Street stakeholders have come
back together. The block is in the process of being
repainted. So far $45,000 have been raised for painting and
improvements.
● Partner Events- Black Joy Parade (Black Joy StoryWindows)
will take place late February 2023. They are changing the
route with the heart of the festival at 14 near Webster and
Franklin. They are working to acquire more participation
from stores and restaurants to be open on Sunday the day
of the parade. Staff received a proposal to sponsor a
Holiday event at the Uptown Station – Square has 12/10/22.
