Education:
Doctor of Philosophy in Civil Engineering September 2023
IIT Roorkee, Roorkee, Uttarakhand, India
Research Area: Structural Fire Engineering
Supervisor: Prof. Rakesh Ranjan
Master of Engineering in Structural & Construction Engineering August 2020 - June 2022
Dr. B. R. Ambedkar National Institute of Technology, Jhalandhar, Punjab, India
Project: Comparative Study of Site-Specific Response Spectra and IS Code Response Spectra
Supervisor: Prof. M. Abdul Akbar
Research Interests:
● Pervious Concrete
● Probabilistic Seismic Analysis
● Response Spectra
● Structural Fire Engineering
Projects:
Design of Pervious Concrete Pavement for Parking: Replacement of Fly ash and
silica fume are studied for different percentages. Permeability and compressive strength
test are carried out.
Estimation of Shear Wave Velocity at varying depth for Jhalandhar, Punjab: The
Shear Wave Velocity and Average Shear Wave Velocity is estimated using Standard
Penetration Test Result for the classification of the soil. Contours are plotted for
different Average Shear Wave Velocity corresponding to different latitude and
longitude. Result is validated with previous researches.
Comparative Study of Site-Specific Response Spectra and IS Code Response
Spectra: Shear Wave Velocity is calculated for the bore holes. Ground response
analysis is carried out using estimated data. Response spectra are plotted for the
respected bore holes and compared with the IS Response Spectra. The existing building
design is again analyzed using site-specific Response Spectra.

CURRICULUM VITAE KUMAR, SHASHANK
Industrial Experience:
Structural Designer October 2022 – January 2023
DMR Hydro-Engineering and Infrastructures Ltd, Faridabad, Haryana
Shahpurkandi Powerhouse Project
The construction of two Powerhouses on river Ravi in Shapurkandi of district
Pathankot. It will contribute a total electricity of 206 MW.
The project consists of many complex structures including 2 powerhouses, bypass
channels, intake structures and much more.
The project is very challenging and complicated, DMR scope in this project is very
limited but valuable. DMR is reviewing the design of civil structures as well as hydro-
mechanical components.
Reviewed powerhouse structure, bypass fall design, excavation drawings, many geo-
technical reports.
Manage and guide the clients at site in reviewing excavation quantities and desired
work.
Technical Skills:
MS Excel, MS Word and MS Power Point, MATLAB, Staad PRO, Surfer, Deep soil,
QGIS.
