Course Description
This course provides students with an overview of the business concepts, frameworks, and algorithms in
predictive analytics as it relates to decision making and its relationship with other analytics types and
various software tools. The course will also provide understanding on predictive analytics tools/forecasting
techniques to build and validate predictive models.
Aims of Course
After completing the course, students will be able to:
CO1. Identify opportunities for descriptive analytics;
CO2. Discuss key concepts and techniques in descriptive analytics;
CO3. Utilize a descriptive analytics tool to prepare reports and monitor performance;
CO4. Create an analysis based on the reports; and
CO5: Develop an awareness of the ethical norms as required under policies and applicable laws
governing confidentiality and non-disclosure of data/information/documents and proper conduct in
the learning process and application of business analytics.

LO5: Understand data management concepts and criticality of data availability in order to make reliable
business decisions

data storing, data analyzing and accessing data
LO7: Apply different analytics modeling concepts on enterprise data
LO8: Understand the functions and data access constraints of various departments within an
organization and provide compliance reports
LO9: Work on various analytics tools available in the market for various business functions
LO10. Participate actively in business discussions with various departments and create common reports
