Bilingual Programme Guidelines

 Class delivery: Mostly English to students (including “tutoria”)

 Less TTT – More STT:

All Elementary:
- Minimum 2 oral presentations per month. Including Science – Social Studies –
Exhibition (once a month)
- Balance spoken production (oral presentations) & spoken interaction
(communication). Suggested activities: Think – pair – share / numbered heads /
retelling / role plays / theme theater, etc.
Lower Elementary:
- Include songs, chants, riddles, tongue twisters (evidence)
- Phonics: 2023: Once every two weeks in third term.
2024: 1 mandatory hour in grades 1,2,3
Upper Elementary:
- Individual presentations
- Storytelling
- Debate

 Classroom decor

Inside:
- Wall of words (Sight words – academic words – Cambridge words)
- Class panels: Student’s work / Useful language / Quotes / Relevant information.
- Finished by: Friday 18th

Outside:

- One side of the wall for Bilingual Programme.

- All content areas must produce materials to hang up.
- Changes every two weeks: Puts materials Fridays – Take down Thursdays
- All work MUST be checked.
- Order: Language Arts – Science – Social Studies – Exhibition
- Starts: Friday 18th
- Blue central panel: ABP (Research question – evidence)

 Spelling Bee: Third term

 Professional development
- Each teacher must present a plan for individual professional development in ELT
(language proficiency – workshops - ELT & diploma courses – Masters)
- Finished by Monday 21st
