Q1) What is Imaan?
Ans. Imaan is to have faith in Allah , His angels, His books, His messengers, the last day and in Fate-
good and evil.
Q2) What is Islam ?
Ans. Islam is to testify that there is no god except Allah and Mohammed (pbuh) is the messenger of
Allah, to offer salah perfectly, to pay zakah, to fast in the month of Ramadan, and to make
pilgrimage to the house of Allah if one is able to do so.
Q3) What is Ihsan?
Ans. Ihsan is to worship Allah as though you are seeing Him, and while you see him not He truly sees
you.
Q4) What does believing in fate – good and evil mean?
Ans. A believer believes that whatever happens, happens with Allah’s will. A believer cannot blame
others if something bad or good happens, it is from Allah.
Q5) How did the Roman emperor try to tempt Abdullah bin Huzaifa into accepting Christianity?
Ans. The Roman emperor tried to tempt Abdullah bin Huzaifa by offering him lots of wealth and
palaces that would make him happy.

Q1) What are angels? What is the importance of the belief in the angels of Allah in Islam?
Ans. The angels are spirits. They are made of light. They have no power of choice of their own.
They obey Allah’s command. The belief in angels of Allah is one of the basic foundation of
Islam.
Q2) How many angels are there? Mention the names of the four mighty angels?
Ans. Allah only knows the exact number of angels. The names of the four mighty angels are:
(1) Jibreel (AS)
(2) Mikaeel (AS
(3) Azraeel (AS)
(4) Israfeel (AS)
Q3) Who are the kiraman katibin? What is their function?
Ans) Kiraman Katibin are the noble recorders. They record everything one does, says or believes.
These angels keep records of peoples good and evil deeds.
Q4) Can we see angels? Are all angels equal in grades?
Ans. We cannot see angels. Some are of superior grades & other angels are not equal. Some are close to
Allah others are not.
Q5) What is the most significant duty of angels?
Ans. The most significant duty of angels is to bring divine revelation to Allah’s prophets. According to
Holy Quran it was the angel Jibreel (AS) who used to bring the message of Allah to all the
prophets and to our Prophet Mohammed (PBUH).

Q1) What is the importance of Salah in the life of a Muslim?
Ans. Salah is recognized by the Quran as the first and the foremost duty of a Muslim. The first duty enjoined
to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was to offer Salah. Salah is the most important distinguishing mark of a
Muslim.

Q2) What is the importance of “the intention” in Islam?


Ans. According to the Hadith, “Actions are but by intention and every man shall have but that which he
intended”. It is true that a right intention turns our work into Ibadah. All duties become highly rewarding in
the sight of Allah if they are carried out with right intention to seek the pleasure of only Allah.
Q3) Mention the various merits and the value of Salah as mentioned in Hadith?
Ans. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) used to say, “The coolness of my eyes lies in Salah”. Salah brings
comfort to the heart; it is the shelter of a believer and a source of peace and strength. It is a strong and
unbreakable rope stretched out between Allah and the believer. It is the comfort of his soul and a remedy for
his ills, a remedy that never fails.
Q4) What happens when a Muslim offers Salah perfectly?
Ans. When a Muslim offers Salah perfectly his sins fall off as the leaves of trees fall in autumn .Allah loves
those who offer Salah perfectly. They remain in His shelter.
Q5) What is the purpose of man’s creation according to the Quran?
Ans. The Quran says: “I have created only the jinn & the man that they may serve Me”. (51 : 56). The mans
purpose is to worship Allah and obey Allah’s command.

Q1) “The whole of the earth has been made a mosque for me” What does it mean?

A1) The Arabic word of mosque is masjid which means a place where one prostrates oneself or a place of
worship. The prophet Mohammed (pbuh) had said “The whole of the earth has been made a mosque for me”
which means a Muslim may offer salah anywhere he likes.

Q2) Due respect must be given to the house of Allah. Explain?

A2) The mosque is a holy place and should be treated with due respect. Shouting and talking loudly is
strictly prohibited in the mosque. It should be kept clean and no one should enter it with shoes on.

Q3) What should a Muslim do on hearing the Azan?

A3) After hearing the Azan we should start preparing for salah. We should be clean and free from najasah,
relieve our self in the washroom if need be ,Perform wodhu perfectly and reach the mosque on time.

Q4) What is the reward of performing Salah in jama’ah compared to offering it privately?

A4) The Prophet Mohammed (pbuh) is reported to have said that whoever offers Salah perfectly with
jama’ah for forty days without missing the first takbir, he would be kept away from two things : the hell fire
and hypocrisy.

Q5) What are the pillars of salah?

A5) 1) Takbiratul Ihram 2) Qiyam 3) recitation of Surah Fatiha and any other surah 4) Ruku 5) Sajdatayn

Ans. On the occasion of Al Miraj the five daily prayers were made obligatory for every muslim male &
female. The last two verses of Surah Baqarah were also revealed to Prophet(PBUH).
Q2) Prophet (PBUH) had to look for another place to continue his mission. Why?
Ans. Prophet (PBUH) had to look for another place to continue his mission because the Quraysh
opposed the Prophet (PBUH) more bitterly than ever before. The attacks from the Quraysh were
increased and Prophets (PBUH) hope to invite them to Islam faded.
Q3) What was the condition of Prophet as he sat under the shade of vine?
Ans. The condition of the Prophet (PBUH) was very bad. He was wounded and bleeding, footsore and
tired, shoes sodden with blood as he sat under the shade of vine to rest.
Q4) How did the leaders & the chiefs of Taif treat the Messenger of Allah?
Ans. The leaders & the chiefs of Taif treated the Messenger of Allah very badly. They mocked and
taunted him. They did not allow to leave the place in peace. They let loose their servants, slaves
and ill-mannered boys to chase him out of the city.
Q5) What did the Prophet (PBUH) do at the heart breaking moment? What lesson does this incident teach
us? Ans. At the heart breaking moment Prophet (PBUH) was praying fervently to Allah. This incident
teaches us that we must forgive others and have patience. We should ask help from Allah and never take
revenge.
L–19: PROPHET MOHAMMED (PBUH) PART –II

1. When Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) described his ‘night journey’ (al–Miraj) the Quraysh laughed
and mocked at him.

increased. They mocked and jeered at Prophet (PBUH). They made life difficult for the
believers.

Q2) What is the first pledge of al Aqabah?


Ans. The first pledge of al Aqabah was held in the year 621.Twelve people from Madinah came to
Makkah to meet Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) to know about Islam and accept it. These twelve men
made a promise to Prophet to obey him and avoid sins. This is known as the first pledge of al
Aqabah.
Q3) What is the second pledge of al Aqabah?
Ans. The second pledge of al Aqabah was held in the year 622. A group of seventy five people including
two women met Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) at al Aqabah. They pledged themselves to obey
Prophet (PBUH) and avoid sins. This is known as the second pledge of al Aqabah.

Q4) Mention the names of some of the Prophet’s companions who had emigrated to Madinah
before the Prophet himself had gone there.
Ans. Umar bin Khattab (RA), Hamzah (RA), Zayd ibn Haritha (RA), Talha (RA) Abdul Rehman ibn
Awf (RA), Uthman (RA) and other companions of Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) reached
Madinah before the prophet.

Q5) Why did Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) ask Ali ibn Abi Talib (RA) to stay back in Makkah?
Ans. Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) advised Ali ibn Abi Talib (RA) to stay back in Makkah so that he
could return the things of the people that lay in the Prophet’s trust .Because of the Prophet’s
truthfulness and trustworthiness people gave him the title “truthful” and “trustworthy” and people
used to keep their things in Prophets custody.
L–24: SAWM–A PILLAR OF ISLAM
I.FILL IN THE BLANKS:

Ans. Fasting means keep away from eating , drinking, and sins throughout the hours of daylight. It is the
fourth pillar of Islam. The word for breaking the fast is “Iftar” and the things that break a fast are called
“Muftir”.

Q2) What is the relationship between the Quran and the month of Ramadan ?
Ans. Fasting provides an exacting exercise in self-discipline. It strengthens and deepens Our
faith. It honors the memory of the sending down of the Quran which took place in the holy
month of Ramadan..

Q3) What is the Laylatul-Qadr ? What is the reward of passing the Laylatul –Qadr in
prayers?
Ans. Laylatul –Qadr is blessed because the revelation of Quran began in it. Laylatul –Qadr is
the night of power is better than thousand months. The Prophet (S.A.W) said, he who passed
the Laylatul –Qadr in prayer out of faith seeking pleasure of Allah, will have his past sins
forgiven.

Q4) Mention the things that annual a fast?


Ans. The things which one must abstain from in fasting are eating and drinking between
daybreak and sunset.
If however, they are done forgetfully, the fast would remain and must be completed.

Q5) Mention the things that do not annual a fast ?


Ans. Rinsing the moth with water ,using a “Miswak” sniffing water into the nostrils, using
perfumes or swallowing one’s own saliva do not break the fast.

L-26: IDUL-FITR & IDUL AD’HA:
The Festivals of Islam.

I. FILL IN THE BLANKS.

Ans. The festive days of Idul-Fitr and Idul-Ad’ha pass through all the seasons because
It follows Lunar calendar and Lunar calendar follows the movement of the Moon.

Q3) When does the time for Salatul-Id start?


Ans. The time for Salatul-Id starts when the sun has risen and moved through the
sky as high as the length of one spear above the horizon offering of Salatul-Id
should Not possibly be delay. However, the Idul – Ad’ha prayer should be
offered a little earlier then the Idul- Fitr prayer.

Q4) What is the Zakatul-Fitr?


Ans. Zakatul-Fitr means purifying dues paid on ending the fast of the month of
Ramadan. The amount of Zakatul-Fitr is 1 sa equal to 2176 grams.

Q5) Into how many portions is the meat of the sacrificed animal divided? To whom
is it given?
Ans. The meat of the sacrificed animal is divided into three portions.
A) One is for the family.
B) Second is for relatives, neighbours, and friends.
C) Third is for the poor and needy people.
