DS-80 Transducer Replacement Procedure

F-type Gate Valve (DS-786)

1. Removing transducer
1. Remove two Socket head screws (13) fixing Flange (4)
and Lock ring (6).

2. Pull up Shaft (5) until it does not go

further, about 186 mm.

3. Close Gate valve by turning the handle up to

“S” mark.

Note: The gate valve is

used with the handle
rotated back half-turn
from both ends.

4. Make sure that Shaft (5) does not lower from the highest position.

5. Detach Flange (4) with Shaft(s) from Gate valve, removing four M16×60
Socket head bolts (12), M16 spring washers (11), and M16 nuts (10).

6. Remove four M4×16 Socket head screws (15) and M4 shielding washers (16).

7. Remove Gland nut (19), Flat washers (8), and Gasket (7).

8. Remove Transducer (1) from Shaft (5).

9. Remove the adhesive (ThreeBond #1104) from the surface “A”.

5. Apply a thin coat of the adhesive, ThreeBond #1104, over the top of the
transducer. See Fig.10. The transducer top face is not visible after coating.
Safe Handling ThreeBond
1) Use only with adequate ventilation, or the workspace is well ventilated.
2) Skin Damage! Avoid contact with the skin. In case of contact, clean
immediately, wiping off using commonly available organic solvents.

6. Apply the adhesive, ThreeBond #1104 over all threads of Socket head bolt (15).

7. Fix the transducer onto Shaft (5) so that Bow mark on the transducer is
aligned with V-mark on the shaft at the angle of about 10°
, using four M4×16
Socket head screws (15) and M4 Shielding washers (16).

3. Fixing Flange Assembly to Gate Valve

1. Place Gasket (18) onto the flange of Gate valve (20).

2. Make sure that Flange (4), Gasket (18), and Gate valve (20) are aligned as
shown in Fig.14.

3. Using four M16×60 Socket head bolts (12), M16 Spring washers (11), and M16
Nuts (10), fix Flange assembly onto Gate valve (20).

Both FORE marks on Flange (4) and Hull flange (2) are aligned.
