Notes:
01 All dimensions are in millimetres unless otherwise specified.
02 Design and detailed engineering of the storage tank is included in Contractors scope.
03 Tank design and construction work shall be carried out in accordance to API650 and "Mechanical Design Basis"
04 Design liquid level shall be the full height of the shell (including top angle) for fixed roofs with a liquid specific gravity not less than 1.0. Tanks shall
be designed to permit hydrostatic testing as erected in the fully corroded condition (after corrosion allowance is eroded)
05 Nozzle flanges up to 24" NPS shall be as per ASME B 16.5 and flange above 24" NPS shall be as per ASME 16.47 series A/ B.
06 Gasket material for Manholes and COD shall be compressed - Non asbestos fibre and for nozzles spiral wound mettalic gasket as per the
Piping material specifications.
08 Manhole neck and nozzle neck above 300NB may be fabricated from plate and 100% radiographed.
09 Flanges shall have 125 AARH face finish at gasket area.
10 Flange bolt hole shall straddle natural North - south direction of horizontal of tank and vertical centerline unless otherwise specified.
11 Nozzle sizes specified in the data sheet is tentative and to be confirmed during detailed design stage.
12 Nozzle Reinforced pads shall be provided with 6mm tell tale hole. Tell tale hole to be left open and to be filled with room temperature vulcanising
(RTV) silicon sealent
13 Nozzle RF Pad size / thickness shall be by the CONTRACTOR.
14 Specified nozzle projection are measured from outside of Shell/Roof. Final value shall be confirmed by CONTRACTOR during detailed Design Stage
15 The nozzle elevation shall be with respect to top of bottom plate.
16 Contractor to ensure that nozzles provided on the shell plates meets the requirements of Fig 5.6 of API 650.
17 CONTRACTOR shall check the requirement of Secondary Wind Girder in accordance to API 650. Calculations to be performed with corroded
thickness of shell
18 Design of the vents (PVRV & Emergency Vent) shall be in accordance to API 650, API 2000. Emergency vent shall be designed for fire case.
Design and supply of Vents are excluded from Contractors scope.
19 CONTRACTOR shall check the requirement of Anchor bolts based on API 650. Basic design of the anchor bolts shall be according to Cl 5.12of API650.
20 Spiral Staircase with railing, Intermediate and top Platforms, Gaugerus platform, All Around Hand railing on roof periphery & for nozzle access etc
are included in contractors scope.
21 Maintenance Platforms and ladder shall be provided to access Foam Pourer, Manways and instruments
22 Details of Staircase, Ladder, Platform , Accessories, Nozzle Elevation etc shall be furnished later after completion of engineering. Minimum width of
Platform shall be 800 mm
23 Contractor to ensure roof structure is not immerced in the stored liquid. Contractor may increase the free board / tank height to accomediate the roof
according to Contractors design
24 .Nozzle local load shall be analyzed based on external piping load & local stress analysis for cleats to be performed.External loads on the shell nozzles
to be analysed based on Annex P of API 650. Nozzles on the roof to be analysed based in any FEA method approved by the COMPANY.
25 Highest mean windspeed is 145 km/h
26 Anti syphon holes shall be provided for the internal pipes. Dip pipes shall be provided with internal support and pad plate of 10 mm welded with base
plate of diameter of 2 time of dip pipe to avoid erosions
27 4 nos (min) earthing bosses shall be provided at @ 90° (max) apart for the tank to facilitate earthing connection.
28 Gauge hatch shall be spark proof. Supply of gauge hatch is excluded from contractors scope
29 Foam pourer system and fire water spray system for the tank, for cooling purpose. (safety in case of Fire) shall be provided for the Tank
30 Design, supply, Erection and testing of all tank internals (such as pipes, vortex breaker, deflector etc ) are included in contractors scope.
31 All materials shall meet the minimum requirements specified in Section 4 of API 650
32 Negative tolerance is not acceptable for the Tank plates for Bottom, shell and roof
33 All pressure retaining & process wetted components/ parts shall have BS-EN-10204 Certificate type 3.1 and all other materials shall have Type 2.2 certificate.
34 Tank fabrication, erection and dimensional tolerances shall comply with relevant sections of API 650
35 All weld joints on tank bottom and roof shall be vacuum box tested.
36 Cleanout Door to be stress relieved in accordance to section 5.7.4 of API 650
37 Acceptable tolerance shall be in accordance to API 650
38 Requirement of Testing, NDT etc shall be in accordance to API 650 and approved ITP
39 After completion of all hot work and NDT, the tank shall be hydrotested in accordance to API 650 and approved testing procedure. Quality of water
shall be as per approved Hydro test Procedure
40 Tank shall be cleaned and air dried after hydro test.
41 Contractor shall carryout the tank calibration & certification as per approved procedure
42 Blinding of all manholes, Cleanout door,spare nozzles, including supply of blind flage, gasket, N&B are included in contractors scope
43 Tank bottom external surface shall be provided with Impress Current cathodic protection system
44 Internal / external painting / coating shall be done only after completion of NDT and hydro test.
45 Painting / Coating- Internal / External / Underside of bottom plates painting / coating is included in contractors scope. Painting /
coating shall be carried out as per approved specification / procedure
Tank shall be externally painted with logo and Tank number painted on them.
46 Spares= Supply of spares are included in contractors scope. Minimum spares required are as follows
a) 200% of gaskets for all flanged joints (Manholes, cleanout door, spare nozzles etc)
b) 10% of bolts and nuts (Minimum 4 nos for all flanged joints (Manholes, cleanout door, spare nozzles etc)
