I. OBJECTIVES At the end of the lesson, the learner will be able to:

1. Identify the hand tools used in computer laboratory.


2. Describe the function of each hand tools.
3. Enumerate and describe the hand tools used in computer laboratory.
A. Content Standard The learners demonstrate an understanding of concepts underlying principles in performing computer
operations.
B. Performance Standard The learners shall be able to use hand tools and equipment for computer systems servicing.

system using only hands. The hand tools can be manually used employing
force, or electrically powered, using electrical current.
2. Flat head screwdriver – used to loosen or tighten slotted screws.
3. Philips head screwdriver – used to loosen or tighten crosshead screws.
4. Torx Screwdriver – used to loosen or tighten screws that have a star-like
depression on the top, a feature that is mainly found on laptop.
5. Hex driver – sometimes called a Nut Driver, is used to tighten nuts in the
same way that a screwdriver tightens screws.
6. Needle-nose plier – used to hold small parts.
7. Wire cutter – used to strip and cut wires.
8. Tweezers – used to manipulate small parts.
9. Part retriever – used to retrieve parts from location that are too small for
your hand to fit.
10. Flashlight – used to light up areas that you cannot see well.
