Group activity (10 minutes) – think, pair and share.
The students will identify the reactants and products in the given equation. They will write the symbols
of some common elements after discussion.
The students will write a complete chemical equation using symbols and formulas to represent a chemical
equation.

Individual activity (5 minutes)


The students will attempt the first progress check on their own.
